Fall Out Boy has proven they're still one of the biggest punk/rock acts in the music industry. However, the road to where they are now wasn't easy. They used to rule the charts in mid-2000s with their hit singles before the release of their 2008 album "Folie a Deux".
The recording process of the LP was tough. Despite that, it failed to generate a huge hit. The band then decided to take an indefinite break. Bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz went on to form a new band with Bebe Rexha. Guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley joined another band called Damned Thing while lead vocalist Patrick Stump launched a solo career.
None of these projects could match the four's success as FOB. They then reunited and released their comeback single in early 2013. Titled "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)", it peaked at No. 15 on Billboard Hot 100. The song precedes "Save Rock and Roll" album which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 in April that year.
Now, the group's planning to repeat the success with a follow-up titled "American Beauty/American Psycho". The album is scheduled for release on January 20 and it's led by "Centuries" that reached No. 13 on the Hot 100.
To support the effort, FOB recently announced "Boys of Zummer" joint tour with Wiz Khalifa. The 40-date trek opens on June 10 in Camden, NJ and will be brought to several North American cities throughout the summer before being wrapped up on August 10 in Los Angeles, CA.
