Ciara

Ciara had two important people in mind when she was making her newest album, "Jackie". In addition to her mother who inspired the title, the LP is highly influenced by the singer's son whom she welcomed with now-ex-fiance Future last year.

"The whole inspiration behind the title, naming it after my mom, is that I can now see the world through her eyes," so she explained the title to Rolling Stone. "My fans have grown up with me and seen my life change over the years, from a young girl with 'Goodies' to a full-grown woman and now mom. So with this album, I wanted for my fans to connect with me as it relates to this new chapter in my life. From pre-baby to post-baby, there's a big difference."

CiCi started working on the album while she was still pregnant. She took a break after giving birth to son Future Zahir Wilburn before going back to studio to capture the magic of being a first-time mom. She talks a lot about motherhood on songs off the record, including on "I Got You" which was penned by Diane Warren and produced by Harmony Samuels.

"It completely sums up how my life has changed with being a mom. I cried when I recorded it," she said. "It's one of those classic Diane Warren songs that will be around for many years. And while I have my situation and my son, the message in the music can speak to anyone, in many different situations."

Asked how recording the song was like, CiCi recalled, "[Warren is] so vocal - you know that you're with someone who knows what she's doing. With this song in particular, all the instruments are live. Nothing is from a computer or a machine. There's real violins and real cellos. It's one of the best songs that I've recorded to date."

Led by single "I Bet" which has been rumored about Ciara's rapper ex, "Jackie" is officially coming out on May 4. To support it, she kicked off her first tour in six years on May 3 in Chicago. She'll spend the rest of the month visiting other cities across the U.S. before wrapping things up on May 31 in San Francisco.
