2 Chainz

2 Chainz takes his solo career very seriously. After being a member of Playaz Circle for years, the rapper officially kicked off his solo career with the release of his debut album "Based on a T.R.U. Story" in 2012. Since the album release, he has been busy hitting the studio to work on other efforts, both EP and LP.

Following 2013's "Based on a TRU Story 2: Me Time", 2016's "ColleGrove" and a number of mixtapes, 2 Chainz released his fourth studio effort titled "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music" on June 16, 2017. The set featured sixteen tracks, including several collaborative songs with massive hip-hop stars, such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, Migos, Gucci Mane, Travis Scott (II) and Ty Dolla $ign.

Although "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music" succumbed to Lorde's "Melodrama" on the Billboard 200 chart, it impressively racked up 106,000 units, including 57,000 in traditional album sales in its first week. Additionally, the album spawned some chart-topping hit songs, including "Good Drank", "It's a Vibe" and "Blue Cheese".

2 Chainz's campaign in support of the new album has sent Atlanta in frenzy, as he set up a pink trap house venue to promote the set, as well as a trap salon where women could get manicures and pedicures. Despite his New York listening party getting shut down by police, "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music" has received positive reviews.

In a recent interview, the 39-year-old spitter celebrated his latest project's success as he said, "I feel real good. I feel real blessed and humbled by it. Hard work pays off. I prayed for this album to be number one. I put a lot of effort into this album. I put a lot of resources together for this album."
