Daniel Merriweather

From being a guy who worked at KFC, established himself to become an award-nominated singer. Born in Australia, the 28-year-old was listed under BRIT Awards' International Breakthrough Act in January this year. Although he did not get to go home with the trophy, it put his name alongside fellow nominees , , and .

Merriweather came into public's attention through DJ who tagged him along in his live shows. In 2007, he started recording his major debut album "" which peaked at number 2 on U.K. Albums chart as of June 2009. He is now preparing to make his U.S. debut with the album being released on February 23.

In support of the effort, Merriweather will become 's tour companion starting April 9 in Vancouver, BC. Together they would visit Seattle, Boston, Chicago, and New York, before wrapping up in Baltimore, Maryland May 14. More about Merriweather can be found on his MySpace.
