Born to Dianna Lovato, a former country recording artist, Demi Lovato wants to follow her mother's step by embarking a new career as a singer. She first hinted her move on a solo tour, "Demi Live! Warm Up Tour". Following that solo gigs, Demi joined Jonas Brothers in their 2008 summer tour, entitled "Burnin' Up".
In 2008, Demi has finally entered music studio with the Jonas boys, who contribute in the songwriting credit for her new materials. Titled "Don't Forget", the album is expected to hit the market on September 23 in the United States via Hollywood Records.
While waiting for the record's release date, Demi, who has celebrated her sixteenth birthday on August 20, released her first single "Get Back" live at ABC's "Good Morning America". The tune has so far peaked at number 43 in Billboard Hot 100 chart and reached number 16 in Hot Digital Songs chart.
Eager to promote her debut album, a week after releasing her lead single from her upcoming studio effort, the singer drops a music video in attempt to support the tune. Besides that, she is also booked out for a live performance along side teen peer Miley Cyrus for "Concert for Hope" at Universal City's Gibson Amphitheater in mid-November.
Her passion towards music is, furthermore, shown when she steps into song-writing room and crafts her own songs, such as "Stronger", "Open", and "Shadow". Commenting on her works, which has been featured in soundtrack album of Disney short series "As the Bell Rings", she describes them as "carrying dark music".
