Week 20 of 2008

Cherish

AceShowbiz.com has selected R 'n' B music group to be featured as the Artist of the Week of week 20 in 2008. The have significantly made a contribution in the music industry since coming with a boom in 2006 with their hit "Do It to It". The all-girls group are now ready to release their sophomore effort "" which none other than a work of their impressive songwriting skills.

Unlike many group acts that sometimes are fed with materials, the sisters of Cherish took the risk in publishing their own creative work despite their very young age. The result? A single that peaked at #12 on Billboard Hot 100 chart and #10 on U.S. R 'n' B chart plus a video that was constantly requested on BET's 106 & Park. Proving they are capable of their own success, the girls also handle most of the writings of "The Truth".

"The initial perception of Cherish was that we were this little girl group with catchy records," said Farrah who is added by Neosha: "But we wrote our entire first album and this one, with the exception of a few tracks written with Terius '' Nash. Our struggles growing up in the music industry have only made us stronger and that's what The Truth is all about."

"The Truth" is due in stores tomorrow, May 13, fronted by a first single called "Killa" that features and is used as one of the soundtracks to dance movie "".

CHERISH BIO

Being born within short intervals made the sisters of Cherish not only bonding at home but publicly too. Farrah the oldest who was born in the 1984 was joined by her sisters Neosha (1986) and twins Felisha and Fallon (1988) to form a singing group called Cherish. They were indeed no stranger to music business as their father who later on became their manager has been involved in Pop aka Professions of Sounds that once hit the road with funk group Earth, Wind & Fire. Though having the benefit, the girls were particularly honorable for their effort to write their own materials. The girls found themselves being able to work harmoniously as Fallon self-explained, "My style is really more cool and laid back. I'm the lowest note out of the group and I have sort of a soothing, airy feel to my voice. Farrah's the sophisticated one out of the group. Felisha and I are kinda tomboyish while Neosha is the sexy one. She's the soprano. We all have our unique sound." » more
