Having sold an estimated 15 million records worldwide with four studio albums since 1998, Black Eyed Peas return with "The E.N.D." in 2009. In a bid to satisfy their fans with new sounds, this band bring in "new people ... software programmers" to help them working on the record which will hit U.S. market on June 9.
The result is new tracks featuring today's music trend, Auto-Tune, included in the effort. One of the songs is a chart-topper titled "Boom Boom Pow" which is also the album's lead single. Produced by will.i.am, the track firmly sits at number one on Billboard Hot 100 for nine consecutive weeks, making it 2009 longest running number 1 song on the chart so far.
Furthermore, "I Gotta Feeling" which is expected to be released as the second single from the album has been chosen as a soundtrack for CBS' summer marketing campaign. Starting with telecast of the 63rd annual Tony Awards on June 7, the song is used to promote the network's fall schedule for the next few months.
Both of the songs have got music videos. While the video for the lead single features "the Peas' birth into the digital afterlife," the video for the second single captures the band partying with some fellas.
As a promotional effort to support the new album, Black Eyed Peas are set to visit popular TV shows, perform at major music festivals and open for acclaimed band U2. Fans can visit their MySpace to obtain details about their forthcoming shows.
