Emily Blunt Crowned As "Young Victoria"
March 21, 2007 03:03:42Stepping into the similar shoes of fellow actress Helen Mirren when she assumed a royal role in "The Queen", Emily Blunt has been appointed to portray the titular character in "The Young Victoria", a period biopic of the 19th century monarch produced by Initial Entertainment Group's Graham King and Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
King was quoted to laud "The Devil Wears Prada" star as the one who is "perfect to play this feisty, passionate young woman who went on to have nine children with the love of her life, Prince Albert." Meanwhile, the film itself will center on the turbulent early years of Queen Victoria's reign and her marriage to the prince, who turns out to be her first cousin.

Martin Scorsese and Graham King Yield to "The Young Victoria"
February 10, 2007 11:02:52Apparently wanting to follow the recent critical success of both "The Queen" and "The Last King of Scotland", Martin Scorsese is re-teaming up with Initial Entertainment Group's Graham King to produce "The Young Victoria", a biographical feature of Queen Victoria, who was also the first Empress of India during her reign in British Empire.
Scorsese has been known to have a well-established relationship with King, who produced several of his directorial works like "The Departed", "The Aviator", and "Gangs of New York."
