Mixed Reviews Pouring Down on 'Zohan'
June 05, 2008 03:06:27Throughout his career, Adam Sandler has delivered performances like none others. He has played a slacker going back to school to convince his father that he is his rightful successor in "Billy Madison", portrayed an aggressive golfer with a powerful slapshot in "Happy Gilmore" and turned from a irresponsible slob to a man with new mission in life in "Big Daddy". Now, he is about to present moviegoers with another distinct character, a Mossad agent turned hairstylist, through his upcoming comedy "You Don't Mess With the Zohan". The question that remains is whether he could achieve the similar box office success with "Zohan" like what he did with "Big Daddy" or even top it.
With the teaming up of Sandler and established filmmaker Judd Apatow, it is apparent that "Zohan" is aiming to deliver the best comedy film of 2008. However, it seems that critics are divided in two giving out mixed reviews for the Columbia Pictures' movie.

5 Clips and Behind-the-Scene Video of 'Zohan' Available
June 03, 2008 12:06:53In about three days, on June 6, "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" is going to make its theatrical debut. Gearing up to present a challenge to its competitor "Kung Fu Panda" which will be having the same release date, five new clips and behind-the-scene video of the comedy film by Dennis Dugan can be found on the net.
Though the short footages cut from the movie have been displayed earlier through previous released trailers, they present a more elaborated glimpse on the particular scenes. The first clip offers a tickling scene in which three men are calling a Hezbollah hotline to get terrorist supplies, while the second one shows the debate between Zohan and his mother about him leaving the army. The rest of the clips expose Zohan in New York City when he is trying to land hairstylist jobs and when he is confronting a rude man on the street.

Red Carpet Coverage: 'Zohan' Making Its World Premiere
May 29, 2008 03:05:55About two weeks before Judd Apatow's next comedy film makes its debut in the theaters across the U.S., "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" held its world premiere on May 28, 2008. In the celebration of the film's first exclusive screening, red carpet was rolled down at the Grauman's Chinese theatre in Hollywood, California.
Though the special event wasn't as star-studded as the "Sex and the City" New York premiere, it still made noteworthy with the coming out of the comedy movie's stars, naming some were Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Lainie Kazan, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Nick Swardson, and the filmmakers, including co-writer Apatow and executive producer Robert Smigel. The red carpet was also made unique with the existence of barber chair on a section of it with the background of wig shelves.

There, he knocks off an armed guard before kicking through a wall to knock another baddie. Unlike the earlier trailer, this new video shows more off the impossible things Zohan could do, such as catching a shot bullet with bare hands and swimming as fast as a speeding jet ski.

Reader's Reviews

There were three funny parts of the entire movie. The worst part of the movie was the propaganda regarding Zionist warmongering in the Middle East. Sandler promotes the idea that the current situation in the middle-east is from irrational Arab hatred of Jews, and not current Israeli Policies. F

The worst I have ever seen Adam Sandler do! I have a pretty warped sense of humour and found not only did movie drag on but it was very hard to follow at times as the scenes draged on and on to the point of it not being humourous anymore. walked out before it finished..
