Winners in Film Slots Named at the 33rd Annual Saturn Awards
May 11, 2007 11:05:50Picking up the best among notable big screen titles and names for its 33rd annual Saturn Awards, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films finally listed out those worthy for the honors in movie categories as it held the ceremony yesterday, May 10 at the Universal Hilton.
Most kudos wonderfully went to Warner. Bros Pictures' "Superman Returns" for the superhero flick made its way to collect five prizes altogether, namely Best Fantasy Film, Best Actor for Brandon Routh, Best Director for Bryan Singer, Best Writing for Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, plus Best Music for John Ottman.

The North American Box Office's Top 10 Final Figures
July 17, 2006 10:07:19The estimated ticket sales at the North American box office for July 14-16 period shows the dominance of the "Pirates". The adventure, action, comedy flick, tentatively titled "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", taking in another $62.2 million in ticket sales, thus rules the movie chart for a second weekend.
On top of that attainment, the movie also has quickly become the year's top-grossing film, rocketing past "X-Men: The Last Stand," which has taken in $232 million in eight weeks, with the "Pirates" sequel raising its 10-day total to $258.2 million. Meanwhile, The Wayans brothers comedy "Little Man" claims the 2nd spot with about $21.7 million, just one place ahead of "You, Me and Dupree" at 3rd with $21.3 million.

The estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc., sees "The Break-Up" debuts more strongly than expected with $38.1 million to take over the No. 1 position from last week's champ, "X-Men: The Last Stand" which slips one to second spot with another $34.3million.
Cling at No. 3 is DreamWorks Animation's cartoon comedy "Over the Hedge" taking in $20.6 million, just one place ahead of the controversial flick "The Da Vinci Code" at No. 4 with $19.3 million. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated "Mission: Impossible 3" taking in $4.6 million to be at No. 5, then followed by "Poseidon" at No. 6 with $3.4 million. Rounding out the Top 10 among others are "R.V." at No. 7, "See No Evil" at No. 8, "An Inconvenient Truth" at No. 9, and "Just My Luck" to close the Top 10 movie chart.

"X-Men: The Last Stand" Isn't the Last?
May 31, 2006 03:05:08While everybody may assume "X-Men: The Last Stand" as the final film in the Marvel comic-book trilogy, director Brett Ratner told Superhero Hype! that there will probably another sequel of it.
Take a look at the ending of the highly anticipated flick and you'll see a scene shot in the hospital bed in the first days of filming which actually never appeared on the script. So it's not over yet as Retner said "Let them come back and see the movie again".

The total ticket sales of the action drama fantasy flick which reaches $107 million in its first weekend of release consequently leads the movie to become the biggest Memorial Day Weekend of all time while at the same time ranked as the fourth-highest.
Meanwhile, hold the record as the No. 1 highest movie is still the 2002 film "Spider-Man" with $115 million, ahead of "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" as the 2nd best with $108.4M, and "Shrek 2" which taking in $108M to be the 3rd.

"X-Men: The Official Game" Will Be Released Soon
April 21, 2006 04:04:45"Superman Returns: The Videogame" will soon hit the market, on June 26th to be exact. But prior to the release of the set, "X-Men: The Official Game" will be released earlier on May 16th, ten days before "X-Men: The Last Stand" hits worldwide theater.
And to make sure the game remains true to the movie version, not only it will include the likenesses and voices of several stars from the action drama fantasy flick, but it brings in too the screenwriter from the film. Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Alan Cumming and Shawn Ashmore will all reprise their film roles.

It's cool. I love it. One thing, stay in your seat until the end of the credits... there is a short scenes about Charles Xavier. He is not dead yet.. can't wait for the next sequel :)
