Ladies Extravaganza at 'The Women' Hollywood Premiere
September 05, 2008 03:09:26Picturehouse Entertainment have thrown a premiere for their latest comedy movie, "The Women", at Mann Village Theater, Los Angeles on Wednesday, September 4. Like the movie which is flooded with amazing all-girl cast ensemble, the special event was dominated with women from director/writer Diane English to "American Pie" actress Tara Reid.
The red carpet event was attended by most of A-listers who star in the remake film, including Meg Ryan, Debra Messing, Eva Mendes, Jada Pinkett Smith, Annette Bening, Candice Bergen, Cloris Leachman and Debi Mazar. Aside from those actresses, "All About Eve" actress Celeste Holm and "Ugly Betty" villain Vanessa Williams were also seen strolling down the red carpet.

June 03, 2008 04:06:13Mary Haines has a rich husband, an adorable 11-year-old daughter, a beautiful country home and a close-knit circle of friends. Her life is perfect, or so her friends thought. Through the first trailer of "The Women" that has been released online earlier by Picturehouse Entertainment, viewers are being brought to see glimpses of Mary's life when her not-so-perfect life is being unearthed.
Exposing the life of Manhattan socialites, the trailer begins with a garden party where Mary enjoys an ordinary social gathering with her friends Sylvia Fowler, Edie Cohen and Alex Fisher talking about Edie's pregnancy. The footages then continue showing the seems-to-be-perfect life of Mary. But, before long, Sylvia finds out that Mary's husband is having an affair with a perfume salesgirl and that Mary knows it all along but doesn't tell her friends, a fact that tests the friendship between the women to the breaking point.

November 08, 2006 04:11:28Landing her next directorial stint on the big screen after "First Man", writer-producer Diane English has reached a deal to helm hip New York comedy "The Women", a remake of George Cukor's 1939 effort of the same title based on the Clare Boothe Luce novel.
Scheduled to start filming mid-March in New York, the project revolves around a tight-knit group of female friends dealing with friendship, divorce and betrayal. It is reported that names like Meg Ryan, Lisa Kudrow, Anne Hathaway, and Candice Bergen have already been attached to star with Christopher Eberts, Mick Jagger, also Victoria Pearman producing.
