Los Angeles Goes White for 'Whiteout' Premiere

Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment celebrated the countdown to the Friday, September 11 theatrical opening of "Whiteout" with a Los Angeles premiere. On Wednesday, September 9, the studios rolled down white carpet in front of Mann's Village Theater in Hollywood to greet the incoming celebrities.

Kate Beckinsale and Gabriel Macht were two of the leading actors present for the special screening event. Beckinsale who takes the role of U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko arrived to the premiere accompanied by her director husband Len Wiseman, and Macht who plays U.N. operative Robert Pryce had his actress wife Jacinda Barrett by his side.

Its theatrical release is fast approaching, and with that in mind, "Whiteout" gives out more sneak peeks into the film's actions and thrilling moments. As much as seven clips from the drama thriller have made their way out. All of these snippets feature Kate Beckinsale's Carrie Stetko and focus on her investigation of the murder case.

Taking place in the continent where "nature never intended you to survive", this movie follows U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko as she delves deep into the first murder case in Antarctica. Three days before Carrie is planned to depart back to home after two years stationed at Antarctica's South Pole research base, a body turns up on the ice.

The first official and full trailer of "Whiteout" has been released by Warner Bros. and Dark Castle and debuted via IGN. Presenting Antarctica as the most unfriendly and isolated landmass in the world, the promo video for the drama thriller explains that nature is not the only thing to fear with a shocking mystery waiting to be solved.

Three days before Carrie Stetko is planned to depart back to home after two years stationed at Antarctica's South Pole research base, a body turns up on the ice. The lone U.S. Marshal is thus immediately thrust into Antarctica's first murder investigation. But, the deeper she gets into the investigation, the death toll mounts and the mystery deepens.

Trio Blinded By "Whiteout"

Landing their feet together in the same vehicle, Gabriel Macht, Tom Skerritt, and Columbus Short have all reached deals to join Kate Beckinsale in the cast of action thriller "Whiteout", the first big screen production of Joel Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment.

Based on Greg Rucka's comic book miniseries, the picture focuses on a lone U.S. marshal assigned to Antarctica named Carrie Stetko who must solve a murder mystery before the sun set for six month there. While Skeritt and Short's roles are still unclear, it is revealed that Macht will play a U.N. operative who is also investigating the case.

Grabbing chance to once again become a tough girl onscreen, Kate Beckinsale is currently engaged in talks to be the leadstar in Joel Silver-produced action thriller "Whiteout", which is also a production of Dark Castle Entertainment.

Adapted from a series of graphic novels created by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber, the project concerns a U.S. Marshal working at Antartica's McMurdo Station named Carrie Stetko who must catch a murderer before the sun set for six month there.

Three to Grow Inside Dark Castle

Marking its success in raising $240 million from half a dozen investment firms to make fifteen film features during the next six years, Joel Silver's Dark Castle Productions will produce the first three pictures under its banner with Warner Bros. to distribute.

The first project of the deal is expected to be "Whiteout", an action thriller flick based on Greg Rucka's graphic novel of the same title. Principal photography on it is scheduled to start this winter for a 2008 release.
