April 10, 2007 02:04:41Still looking for appropriate actress to play the lead female in his project of "White Jazz", director Joe Carnahan has revealed in an interview held by Cinematical that he would like to see Charlize Theron take the role of Glenda Bledsoe in the movie.
"I'm a huge Charlize fan," he told the site. "I would love her for that. I was taunting her at an Oscar party that I was gonna come chasin' her, so I really like Charlize. But there are so many wonderful, amazing actresses that could blow that thing out of the water, that you never want to limit yourself ... but she would be, like, an early favorite."

January 17, 2007 12:01:46Finding each other being gathered up again in one screen after "Smokin' Aces", Peter Berg and Jason Bateman are set to star together once more in "White Jazz", the sequel to the 1997 "L.A Confidential", the film's director Joe Carnahan told Rope of Silicon.
A Warner Independent Pictures production, the picture is based on James Ellroy's novel of the same title which revolves around the daily work of Lieutenant David "Dave" Klein and his involvement with the dark side of the L.A.P.D. Oscar-winning actor George Clooney has already been billed to play the character.

November 30, 2006 02:11:31Making a lavish deal with Warner family, George Clooney is set to do a pair of work for the company through "White Jazz" and "Belmont Boys", The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
The former one, a production of Warner Independent Pictures, will see Clooney take a starring role as a corrupt police lieutenant assigned to a potentially explosive case for the LAPD. Not only that, the striking actor is also going to produce the project with Grant Heslov via his Smokehouse Productions.

October 31, 2006 09:10:39Stepping into his next stint, "Narc" helmer Joe Carnahan is in charge to direct "White Jazz", a big screen adaptation of James Ellroy's novel of the same title, with he himself and his brother Matthew Michael Carnahan set to work on the script, CHUD has revealed.
Said by Carnahan to be the sequel of Curtis Hanson's 1997 work of "L.A. Confidential", the picture will likely to closely follow the original version's story which revolves around the daily work of Lieutenant David "Dave" Klein and his involvement with the dark side of the L.A.P.D.
