The 2006 MTV Movie Awards Frontrunners
June 05, 2006 12:06:00The 2006 MTV Movie Awards show, held on Saturday June 3rd on a soundstage at Sony Studios, celebrated the big winning of last summer's "Wedding Crashers" which at that time collected three trophies all at once, including the coveted Golden Popcorn for Best Movie.
In addition to that, the flick also brought winning to Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson who both shared the Best On-Screen Team honor, and that for Isla Fisher who won the Breakthrough Performance award. Just behind "Wedding Crashers" there came "Brokeback Mountain" which brought Jake Gyllenhaal to double winning mainly for Best Performance category and Best Kiss which he shared with Heath Ledger.

Nominees of the 2006 Empire Magazine Film Awards
March 03, 2006 04:03:18Being shunned at Academy Awards, "King Kong" delightfully shines at another event as the movie made its way to lead the nominations for Empire Magazine's 2006 Film Awards, securing five nods with its stars, Andy Serkis and Naomi Watts, each scored nomination in Best Actor and Actress categories. Came behind the great ape flick were "Pride and Prejudice", "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit", and "Crash" which all garnered four nominations, the latter being one of other four competitors of "King Kong" in Best Film category.
Meanwhile, other big screen productions which have been included in the nominees' list were among others "Batman Begins" for Best Thriller, "Wedding Crashers" for Best Comedy, and "Land of the Dead" for Best Horror Movie. As for the movie stars, names like Christian Bale, Matt Dillon, Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, plus Thandie Newton also appeared on list. The 32nd Annual People's Choice Awards Champs
January 13, 2006 10:01:24The 32nd Annual People's Choice Awards held Tuesday night January 10th has chosen the final episode in the Stars Wars saga, "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith," as Favorite Movie Drama and all-around Favorite Movie. In two other film categories, "Wedding Crashers" was named Top Comedy and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" was chosen as the Favorite Family Movie.
Named Favorite Male Movie Star was Johnny Depp, while Sandra Bullock won the Favorite Female Movie Star category. Favorite Leading Lady honor went to Reese Witherspoon, and the Favorite Leading Man was Brad Pitt. Jennifer Garner, in addition, brought home Favorite Female Action Star prize, whereas Matthew McConaughey won the Favorite Male Action Star.

Exhibitor Relations' Top 10 Moneymakers of 2005
January 04, 2006 01:01:50Another score was made by "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" after the flick gloriously became the only movie that managed to collect over $300 million in a year and that was the title of 2005's Top-Grossing Movie of Top 10 Moneymakers list compiled by the box-office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations. Also mentioned as the Top-Grossing PG-13 Film, "Sith" was followed by "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" on the second place and "War of the Worlds" on the third.
The Top-Grossing PG-rated Film, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", took the fourth rank while "Wedding Crashers" came next along with the title of Top-Grossing R-rated Film. Lining up behind "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Batman Begins" was "Madagascar" which made its way to be the Top-Grossing Animated Film. The last two movies on the list were "Mr and Mrs Smith" with $186.3 million and "Hitch" that scored $177.6 million throughout the whole year.

The No. 1 Wedding
August 01, 2005 09:08:23After two weekends in second place, comedy "Wedding Crashers" becoming the No. 1 movie with three-day sales of $20.5 million. The previous two weeks champ "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" slips to No. 2 with $16.4 million. Meanwhile, action comedy "Sky High" debuts in third place with $14.6 million.
Finishing at No. 4 with $13.5 million is "Stealth," which soon followed by "Must Love Dogs" romance in fifth with $13.05 million. Rounding the Top 10 movies in a row; "Fantastic Four," $6.8 million; "The Island," $5.6 million; "War of the Worlds," $5.44 million; "Bad News Bears," $5.43 million; and the last is "March of the Penguins," $4.2 million.
