'Terminator Salvation' to Replace Kate Connor Depicter
June 02, 2008 04:06:40Before the actors strike gets to be done and can potentially jeopardize the production of "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" in the future, it seems that filmmakers behind the action thriller film series have taken preventive action. In the latest report concerning the fourth installment of the "Terminator" series once made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger, it is said that Warner Bros. Pictures have decided to find a replacement for Charlotte Gainsbourg.
The co-star of Cate Blanchett in "I'm Not There" is more likely to be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard who is now in the state of negotiations for Gainsbourg's role. Slated to portray John Connor's wife, Kate, Gainsbourg had to bow out of the project for the reason of possible future scheduling conflict. Reportedly, if the actors strike is indeed taking place, the 36-year-old would be facing a clashing schedule between "Terminator Salvation" and a French comedy movie she is attached to.

Norton's thorough statement concerning the dispute has been published through Entertainment Weekly and allegedly has been approved by both Universal Pictures and Marvel.
In the 257-word statement, the co-star of Jessica Biel in "The Illusionist" explained that the problems should have been a private creative debate, but it apparently has been blown out and misinterpreted by the media. "Every good movie gets forged through collaboration, and different ideas among people who are all committed and respect the validity of each other's opinions is the heart of filmmaking," Norton wrote in an e-mail.

'The Incredible Hulk' Will Be First of Many?

In an interview with Total Film magazine, the star of the action fantasy film Edward Norton revealed that the movie is just the beginning saying, "To me the whole thing was to envision it in multiple parts. We left a lot out on purpose. It's definitely intended as chapter one."

Producers Deal with the 'Secret Drawer Society'
January 06, 2006 01:01:02New screenwriter Sharon Scott is about to develop her script, "The Secret Drawer Society," into a feature focused on the supernatural. Thus, she's teaming up with producers Daniel Alter and Howard Sun to bring the project into life.
An action adventure genre, "The Secret Drawer Society" revolves around the practice at East Coast inns of guests leaving behind letters, often accounts of encounters with ghosts, for future occupants to find. Scott's script follows two sisters and their friends seeking to unravel the mysteries surrounding a hidden treasure.

Exhibitor Relations' Top 10 Moneymakers of 2005
January 04, 2006 01:01:50Another score was made by "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" after the flick gloriously became the only movie that managed to collect over $300 million in a year and that was the title of 2005's Top-Grossing Movie of Top 10 Moneymakers list compiled by the box-office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations. Also mentioned as the Top-Grossing PG-13 Film, "Sith" was followed by "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" on the second place and "War of the Worlds" on the third.
The Top-Grossing PG-rated Film, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", took the fourth rank while "Wedding Crashers" came next along with the title of Top-Grossing R-rated Film. Lining up behind "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Batman Begins" was "Madagascar" which made its way to be the Top-Grossing Animated Film. The last two movies on the list were "Mr and Mrs Smith" with $186.3 million and "Hitch" that scored $177.6 million throughout the whole year.

Earning an estimated $31.4 million from 3,576 theaters, the giant ape hanging onto the top position in the US box office for the second week in a row. The second best movie over the four-day Christmas holiday weekend is "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" which scores another $30.1 million from 3,853 theaters.
The comedy "Fun with Dick and Jane" secures the 3rd place with $23.5 million, while "Cheaper by the Dozen 2" comes at No. 4 with $14.8 million. Rounding out the top 5 is "The Family Stone" taking in $10.9 million, and at 6th is "Memoirs of a Geisha" earns $10.2 million in its third weekend in theaters. Secures the 7th spot is the new comedy "The Ringer" earning $8.4 million from 1,829 theaters.

"Flightplan," "The Family Stone," "Lassie," and "March of The Penguins," are all securing the 4th to 7th position in a row. The No. 8 movie on the chart is animated Christmas movie "The Polar Express," followed after at 9th by Bollywood romantic-comedy "Bluff Master" and thriller "The Constant Gardener" rounding out at No. 10.

Has been named as one of AFI's Best Movies of 2005 and becoming the lead nominee of the 63rd annual Golden Globe Awards, the flick also is scoring great at the 10th annual Satellite Awards, an event organized by critics formerly affiliated with the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn.
At the ceremony held Saturday Dec 17th at the Four Seasons Hotel, the film won four trophies all at once, mainly for Best Motion Picture Drama, Editing, Song, and Director for Ang Lee. Another winner was Philip Seymour Hoffman who was named Best Actor in A Motion Picture Drama for "Capote" and Felicity Huffman who was granted the Best Dramatic Film Actress prize for "Transamerica."

Films Competing for the FX Oscar
December 19, 2005 01:12:15The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has on Dec 16 announced the 7th films competing for Achievement in Visual Effects for the 78th Academy Awards. Among those are "Batman Begins," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "King Kong," "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith," and "War of the Worlds."
Those seven films will have their fifteen-minute clip reels screened for the Visual Effects Award Nominating Committee on Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Members will then vote to decide three out of the 7th films for Oscar consideration.

Terrence Howard to Deal with the Crusaders

A feature about the early legal career of the first black Supreme Court justice, the film is the true story of Marshall as seen through the eyes of Jack Greenberg, a dedicated young lawyer who became the only white member of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and who fought side by side with Marshall in the courts to destroy segregation. When he worked for the NAACP, Marshall won 29 of the 32 cases he argued before the Supreme Court.

The generational drama tells about a family of police officers in New York torn apart by a corruption scandal. Nolte will play the family patriarch, a New York Police Department deputy chief of detectives who has spent 40-plus years on the job. The Actors Are Awake
