"Gromit" Has a New Role in HMV
April 03, 2007 10:04:15Looks like the intelligent dog from "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" will have another job to do for some period of time apart from his 'acting stint.'
Yes, Gromit has been announced to be part of the famous logo of music firm HMV, serving as stand in for its iconic image Nipper the dog in supporting the company's promotion of children's DVDs at its stores for three months.

"Wallace & Grommit" Lands Top Honor at Children's BAFTA
November 28, 2006 03:11:59Seems the award season does not end yet for "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit." Previously took home an Academy Award earlier this year, the engaging animated flick triumphantly took the Best Film title at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Children's Awards held Sunday night, November 26, 2006.
Responding to this attainment, the movie's creator Nick Park humbly remarked that part of the attraction with the characters was that they appealed both to children and adults, thereby making the picture really work among all ages.

March 03, 2006 04:03:18Being shunned at Academy Awards, "King Kong" delightfully shines at another event as the movie made its way to lead the nominations for Empire Magazine's 2006 Film Awards, securing five nods with its stars, Andy Serkis and Naomi Watts, each scored nomination in Best Actor and Actress categories. Came behind the great ape flick were "Pride and Prejudice", "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit", and "Crash" which all garnered four nominations, the latter being one of other four competitors of "King Kong" in Best Film category.
Meanwhile, other big screen productions which have been included in the nominees' list were among others "Batman Begins" for Best Thriller, "Wedding Crashers" for Best Comedy, and "Land of the Dead" for Best Horror Movie. December 07, 2005 10:12:22The animation action comedy "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" scored another attainment Monday, leading 15 nominations at the 33rd annual Annie Awards to be presented Feb. 4 next year. The awards, which is presented by the International Animated Film Society, recognize the year's best in animation from film, television, commercials and short subjects.
As of "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit," it collected nominations for Directing, Writing, Storyboarding, Effects, Music, Character Design and Best Animated Feature. Also the film dominated the Voice-Acting category, with its four lead actors Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Peter Sallis and Nicholas Smith, all earning nods. Grossing $12.2 million the Columbia Pictures' film successfully seizes this weekend No. 1 from last week's champ "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit," which drops one to 2nd with $11.7 million. In time, another new release "Elizabethtown" secures the 3rd place with just $11 million.
At No. 4 is "Flightplan" with $6.5 million, ahead of "In Her Shoes" at No 5 with $6.1 million, and "Domino" at No. 6 with $4.7 million. The new release successfully tops last week's champ, the airplane thriller "Flightplan," which slips to No. 2 with $10.8 million, ahead of the new wide release "In Her Shoes," which debuts at No. 3 with $10 million.
Elsewhere, the sports gambling drama "Two for the Money" debuts in 4th place with $8.4 million, followed behind by "The Gospel" at No. 5 with $8.0 million. Securing the 6th place at this weekend box office is "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride," with $6.5 million. Taking in $5.7 million, "Waiting" secures the 7th place, while "A History of Violence," wins the 8th rank with $5.1 million.
