Official Trailer Provides Better Look Into 'The Wackness'
June 10, 2008 09:06:39Bringing forward a better view into the drama comedy movie that has earned the Audience Award for Dramatic Film at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, Sony Pictures Classic present the official trailer of "The Wackness". Unlike the previous teasers, this new video footage contributes more to give the idea about the film's story.
Accompanied with a voiceover by the main character, Luke Shapiro, himself, the trailer focuses on the relationship between Luke and his psychiatrist Dr. Jeffrey Squires as well as Luke's interest to Squires' stepdaughter Stephanie. With the display of the '90s trends like Nintendo, the compilation of clips serves as the 1990's nostalgia and it also exposes the amazing list of the film's soundtrack from Notorious B.I.G. to Wu-Tang Clan.

'Wackness' Second Teaser Trailer Unveiled
April 29, 2008 09:04:02Promoting their upcoming drama comedy movie "The Wackness", Sony Picture Classics have let out a new teaser trailer of the movie directed by "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane" helmer Jonathan Levine through MySpace. This second teaser runs a bit longer than the first one and gives out more on the dynamic relationship between the main character, Luke Shapiro, and his psychiatrist.
The compilations of clips takes over the blank screen as it silently shows a gloomy office in which Shapiro sits down in front of Dr. Squires' desk. As the clip goes on it is revealed that the young man is coming for his first therapy session with the shrink. Then, the footage cuts off and takes a flashback to the moment Shapiro graduated from high school and attended what seems like a graduation party. Unlike the first teaser, this one focuses on how Shapiro and Dr. Squires bonded through each therapy sessions and find one goal from them that is getting Shapiro to get laid.

Teaser Trailer of 'The Wackness' Comes Out
April 16, 2008 11:04:23The first teaser trailer of Jonathan Levine's "The Wackness" has debuted online. A minute-long footage of the praised Sundance dramedy starring Ben Kingsley, Famke Janssen and Mary-Kate Olsen among others is said to be posted on the web via MTV Overdrive.
The teaser began with the previewing of the company credits which shows the typed Sony Pictures Classic being replaced by a funky handwritten logo. The footage continues with a close shot of a tape put into the player and then the scene changes to the far shot of the twin towers explaining that the story is set in New York City in Summer 1994. The teaser gives out idea the focus of the film as it let out, "The girls were fly. The music was dope."

Stars Signed for The Wackness

Variety has reported that the likes of Ben Kingsley, Famke Janssen, Mary-Kate Olsen, Josh Peck, Olivia Thirlby, and Method Man are taking starring parts in the movie, which has already hired Jonathan Levine to direct based on his own screenplay.
