Another 'W' Clip and Featurette Hit
October 16, 2008 01:10:24Before "W" makes its debut in the big screen this coming Friday, fans can catch another preview to the Oliver Stone's biopic though a clip and a featurette. The clip entitled "Trust" presents the time when Karl Rove and George W. Bush sit down to talk about their campaign strategies. In it, it can also be seen how Bush comes out with a counter argument to the accusations thrown in front of him.
On the new featurette, it contains the interview with actress Elizabeth Banks who plays Laura Bush in the movie as well as several never-before-seen footage focusing on her portrayal of Laura. In the interview, the 34-year-old actress discusses about the experience working with co-star Josh Brolin and others. She also points out what the movie is all about. New York Glams Up in 'W' Premiere
October 15, 2008 01:10:45Lionsgate Film has had its share in holding the New York premiere of "W", the movie highlighting on the life and presidency of the 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush. On Tuesday, October 14, Lionsgate Films rolled down red carpet in front of Ziegfeld Theater in New York City to welcome the star-studded cast, film's crew as well as celebrity guests.
Spotted attending the special evening were most of its talented cast ensemble, including Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Banks, Ellen Burstyn, Thandie Newton, James Cromwell, Jeffrey Wright, Michael Gaston, Rob Corddry, Richard Dreyfuss, Jesse Bradford and Toby Jones. On the red carpet, they were joined by the people behind this biopic film, such as director Oliver Stone, producer Tom Ortenberg and Lionsgate's Joe Drake.

Second Trailer of 'W' Reveals More of Its Satirical Side
September 25, 2008 01:09:37The brand new trailer of Oliver Stone's "W" has been released. Still focusing on the titular character, George W. Bush, the footage opens with a question from a female journalist about the place Bush sees himself in the history which is met with a rather comedic answer from the 43rd U.S. President, "In history? In history, we'd all be dead." Then, the video continues by presenting the events happening in Bush's life and during his presidency.
The overall compilation of clips in this second trailer also introduces the line-up supporting characters. It presents glimpses into the portrayal of George Bush Sr., Barbara Bush, Laura Bush, Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove, Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State General Colin Powell, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, by the strong cast ensemble from James Cromwell to Thandie Newton .

The scanned Vanity Fair's pictures uncover the first look into the complete cabinet of the 43rd and current President of the United States George W. Bush around 2003 from former Secretary of State General Colin Powell to White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer.
The first image posted at the news' photos displays Jeffrey Wright as former Secretary of State General Colin Powell, Toby Jones as then-Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove, Dennis Boutsikaris as ex-Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Dreyfuss as Vice President Dick Cheney and Josh Brolin as Bush.

'W' Clip Exposes When George Met Laura
August 29, 2008 01:08:35Oliver Stone's latest biopic project "W" has gone forward with its promo as CNN brings forth a brand new clip from the film. Highlighting one of the memorable moments in George W. Bush's life before his presidency, the video focuses on the first meeting between the future 43rd U.S. president and Laura Welch, a Democrat who later becomes known as the First Lady Laura Bush.
Commenting on the two's first encounter, Stone shared to CNN about the unlikely couple. "Even though he was a partying Republican candidate for Congress, and she was a Democratic librarian, there was something bigger between them that lasted," he said. "Their meeting at the barbecue has been documented by family friends in numerous books. For them, it was the best thing that ever came out of a Texas barbecue."

The first clip displays the B-Roll footages in which George Bush's depicter Josh Brolin can be seen filming the scene where President Bush is delivering a speech. Meanwhile, the second one exposes the scene where Bush practices a parachute landing into the water. It also includes an interview with Stone and Brolin.

According to Hollywood Reporter, "Crash" actress Thandie Newton and the Mister Fantastic depicter in "Fantastic Four" Ioan Gruffudd are in final negotiations to join Banks as the cast members in the forthcoming biopic "W".
Newton reportedly is in final talks to take another important role of the National Security Advisor-turned-Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, whereas Gruffudd is still arranging the deal to portray the former British prime minister Tony Blair. Oliver Stone Develops a Film Project About George W. Bush
January 21, 2008 12:01:47Having his drama film "Pinkville" canceled, Oliver Stone was said to be setting his eyes on a new project, focusing on the life and presidency of the 43rd American president, George W. Bush. According to Variety, the Academy Award-winning director, who has made movies about Presidents John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, is developing the biopic entitled "Bush".
On making the biopic, the acclaimed 61-year-old filmmaker said, "Here, I'm the referee, and I want a fair, true portrait of the man. How did Bush go from an alcoholic bum to the most powerful figure in the world?" He then added, "It's like Frank Capra territory on one hand, but I'll also cover the demons in his private life, his bouts with his dad and his conversion to Christianity, which explains a lot of where he is coming from...It will contain surprises for Bush supporters and his detractors."
