'Up' Soars to the Box Office's Top

Pixar have once again dominated the North American box office, placing their latest animation "" at the top slot of the revenue chart. With opening bow being estimated at around $68.2 million, the family adventure film became the tenth Pixar movie to land atop the chart and maintained the studio's perfect box-office track record, scoring ten for ten.

Among Pixar movies, this Pete Docter-directed animation is the studio's third highest debut behind "" and "", but still ahead of "" which opened to $63.1 million. If the ticket price inflation is taken into consideration, however, "Up" slid to fifth place since "Toy Story 2" and "Monsters, Inc." would rate significantly higher.

Two Extended 'Up' Clips Come Out

Two extended clips for "" have arrived. Presenting more than two minutes glance at the comedy adventure movie and providing an in-depth look at two of the scenes shown in the film's latest trailer, the clips are entitled "Need Any Assistance" and "Meet Kevin". The "Assistance" clip comes from MSN, while the "Kevin" snippet is outed via Yahoo! Movies.

"Need Any Assistance" displays the time Carl are enjoying himself in his home by watching TV, but gets distracted by Russell's offer to give him assistance. Soon learning why Russell is so determined to assist an elderly, Carl tricks him into believing that he will help Carl if he can catch Snipe, a bird which has given the old man problems for quite sometime.

New Clip of 'Up' Shows Russell Having Issues With Band-Aids

A fresh clip from Disney's upcoming animated movie "" has come out, showing Russell struggling with a box of band-aids. Titled "First Aid", it captures Russell when he tries to get a band-aid for Carl Fredricksen's minor-injured finger. However, he ends up screaming out loud when Carl pulls one the band-aids, which is accidentally stuck on his left eyebrow.

"Up" follows Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old balloon salesman when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America. But, his adventure is disrupted when he finds out that a 9-year-old boyscout named Russell incidentally joins the trip.

New 'Up' Trailer Introduces Talking Dog and Villain

Disney/Pixar have released a full-length trailer for their forthcoming animation "". Premiered at Yahoo! Movies, the new promo video for this CG-adventure puts out many fresh footage from the scene in which Carl and Russell first meet Dug the talking dog to the first shot of villain Charles Muntz.

The trailer opens with a clip displaying the time Russell is offering Carl his assistance. Though Carl consistently rejects any of Russell's offer, Russell is not about to give up that easily. As the trailer continues, real glimpses of the adventures both Carl and Russell experience are finally shared, including scenes where their house gets caught in a lighting storm and they encounter a gigantic rainbow colored bird in a jungle.

'Up' Villain Unmasked

While the previously-released footage and photos from Pixar's "" have not shared a peek at the antagonist in this upcoming animation movie, a French Disney/Pixar site has posted the first look at the main evil character. Through the first look at many of the film's toys, the site makes note that the aging Charles Muntz will be seen as the villain.

In the first 45-minute of "Up", Muntz, who will be voiced by , has been described to be the man Carl Fredricksen idolizes as a young boy. In fact, Muntz's adventures play an important role in Carl's romantic life with his true love, Ellie. However, the globe trotting explorer will be seen later on as the baddie. Yet, details on what makes him the villain have not been disclosed.

New York Comic Con 09: First-Half Screening of 'Up'

On the first day of the 4th annual New York Comic Con, Pixar have held a special screening of their upcoming animated movie "" for selected press and 300 lucky fans. The screening which took place at the IGN Theater on Saturday, February 7, presented a look into the first 46 minutes of the animated movie and IGN have written down what they have seen at the preview.

"Up" opens with a scene when Carl Fredricksen is only a little boy. In the scene, it can be seen that young Carl is watching a newsreel about an explorer named Charles Muntz and fascinated by Muntz's adventure. However, he is not the only one interested by it. When walking home, he meets Ellie, a tomboy who is equally fascinated by the nature and adventure.

First Fifty Minutes of 'Up' to Be Viewed at New York Comic Con

Disney/Pixar will use the 2009 New York Comic Con event to present a special screening of their latest animation "". On Tuesday, February 3, it was announced that New York Comic Con will host the screening of the film's first fifty minutes with director Pete Docter and producer Jonas Rivera introducing the preview.

While it was reported that Docter will also be participating in a panel from 2:30 - 3:30 P.M., the screening itself will be held on Saturday, February 7 at 6:30 P.M in the IGN Theater. In the press release, it is noted that seating is extremely limited and those interested to see the screening are required to arrive at 5:30 P.M. for a security check-in.

Fresh Clip of 'Up' Shows Extended Walking-Through-Jungle Scene

During Sony's 2009 CES Keynote, a snippet from Pixar's forthcoming animation "" has been screened and the clip has finally made its round via Sony Insider. The exclusive one-minute footage displays the scene where Carl Fredricksen and Russell make their way through a jungle, dragging along the floating house with rope tied on their back.

The clip begins with a far shot of Carl's house floating forward amidst dense trees. When the shot moves forward to the two main characters, it can be seen that Russell is complaining to Carl, telling him that he is tired and has to go to the bathroom. But, as Russell spots a bug, he soon gets distracted and leaves Carl tied to the house alone.

Disney Channel have shared a sneak peek into Disney/Pixar's next comedic movie, "". In a minute and a half video, the mouse house let out several never-before-seen footage of the forthcoming animation. The preview also includes introduction and characters description by director Pete Docter.

Through the sneak peek, Docter explains that Carl Fredricksen is a balloon salesman who has long dreamed of exploring the globe and brings his dream to reality by tying his house to hundreds of balloons. Then, the helmer moves on to Russell, a wilderness explorer who has every badges, has read every book and knows everything he needs to know in theory.

A new short clip from upcoming Pixar's animated picture, "", has made its way out via Disney. Picking up the interaction between grumpy old Carl Fredricksen and young adventurer Russell, the less-than-a-minute clip focuses on the time Fredricksen discovers that Russell is accidentally aboard his flying house.

Though part of this clip has been previewed on the teaser, the snippet provides more of the scene with Russell explaining how he gets on the front porch right before the house takes off. Though shocked with the situation and terrified Russell has begged him to let him in, Fredricksen is quick to reject the plea and slams shut his front door.

Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Studios are taking fans to their latest adventure with a grumpy old man with wild idea through a teaser trailer of "". Displaying all of the movies the studios have made together from "Toy Story" to "" throughout the years, the brief sneak peek serves as an introduction to 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen and 8-year-old Russell.

Noting that Carl is about to go on an incredible journey without leaving his home, the video displays the main reason the narrator says so. Thousands of balloons tied to Carl's house suddenly shoot up to the air and lifts the house up, bringing Carl who stays inside to the sky as he intends. But, as he enjoys the journey, his front door is knocked and a surprise awaits behind the close door.

Talks about Pixar Animation Studios' upcoming 2009 flick "" have begun to go into the surface now that words have it that the project could be a retelling of the classic Don Quixote fable by Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.

Speculations on this matter arose after similarities were found between the novel's story and co-director Pete Docter's remarks on the movie in an interview with Time. The magazine was noted to describe the flick as a "coming-of-old-age story" about a seventy-something guy who lives in a house that "looks like your grandparents' house smelled" then befriends a clueless young Wilderness Ranger and gets into lots of alter kocker altercations.

great movie!! simple and really touching.. sad, silly, happy, promise, etc... my boyfriend told me at the end of this movie,,,that he was crying when fredricksen saw his wife's adventure's book..and he got that actually his wife's adventures are,,get married with him, spent her time with him.. that's not about the house....
