They have once lived together in peace with the Lycans being the daytime guardians of the vampire and the aristocratic vampires being the ruler of the night. But, when King Viktor's daughter is pregnant with her Lycan lover, he orders for her being executed. Enraged with the merciless ruler's decision, Lucian, the lover, rises to be the powerful leader of the Lycans and plots to avenge the death of the love of his life and his unborn son.

Providing a look into the raging war between the vampire and the lycans, a trailer of "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" has leaked out. Through the bootleg trailer, viewers can see how Lucian rallies other werewolves to fight off the vampire. It also displays the bloody battle between the two feuding races.

Kate Beckinsale Said No to 'Underworld 3'

The English actress Kate Beckinsale won't be reprising her role in the third installment of the action fantasy film franchise "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans". According to IESB, the co-star of Hugh Jackman in "Van Helsing" has revealed that she won't be returning to the film's series.

At the junket for her upcoming drama film "Snow Angels" to open in theaters on March 7, the 34-year-old actress revealed that she won't be making any cameo appearance in the Screen Gems' vampire-genre film. IESB noted that the actress confessed that she might reprise her role one day like what Bruce Willis do with "Live Free or Die Hard".

Third Underworld Chapter Set to Rise

The next take on "Underworld" series is on its way to get shaped up. Report from Variety points out that a director has been named and early cast lineup have already got assembled for "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans."

Lakeshore Entertainment and Screen Gems as the studios behind the project are learned to have appointed F/X maven Patrick Tatopoulos to take the helming duties with Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy, and Rhona Mitra all set to star. Tatopoulos was previously known to be the one who developed the creatures for the first two installments of the franchise.
