International Trailer of 'Tormented' Arrives

April 14, 2009 03:04:16

An official U.K. trailer of "" has made its way out. More than two minutes long, the promotional video starts showing a party. It moves on following two high school students who go to a bedroom for an intimate one-on-one. But, their romantic evening soon turns into a frightening one when a clown-masked man jumps in with a roaring chainsaw in hand.

Still, no blood is shed since the scream-inducing act is only the work of the tormentor In-Crowd clique. But, the clique will soon learn the hard way the effect of bullying their classmates, after they tormented Darren Mullett to death. Thirsty for revenge, Mullett comes back from the dead and takes murderous revenge on his former classmates in increasingly brutal, bloody and imaginative ways.

having looked forward to this film for some time, being an avid skins fan, reading reviews written this week i began to get a bit worried that between the bbc and slingshot, they'd managed to screw up what sounded like a good film. Now ok, i know its a been there done that genre, but rarely does the uk pull off the teen horror genre, or even for that matter uk horror as a whole. Yet this film makes me think otherwise. Generally, the acting is good from the young actors, of whom ive seen many before in films gone by, the lead bully for example, bradley (alex pettyfer) has been seen in stormbreaker, but sideinfo ASIDE, tormented is a funny film. Those after an out and out horror will be disappointed. At times though, the bullied, an unfortunate asthmatic child, does remind me of jigsaw with his both inventive and ruthless killings. Seeing it with my 15 year old girlfriend, i have to say she was scared, and perhaps, if the film hadnt put over the point that bullying is wrong, then maybe wouldve been rated higher (you only need to see the sexlaughter scene to understand). In all, a hugely enjoyable, if forgettable film, that will leave you feeling sorry for everyone and really not knowing whether to laugh or cry at the end of the film :) 4/5 ****

Great film; Laugh, shreek a bit and enjoy it. Reviews should have been a rave as it really pulls off the comedy-horror bit with a British accent

Brilliant, unless you don't like watching pencils slammed into someone's brain, or someone's head getting gored onto a spike, or watching a woman getting drowned. I loved it, but i doubt, unless you like that sort of thing, you will ;P

I laughed quite a bit. But mainly at the people who squirmed at the gory bits, which tbh, were really gory. But it was funny seeing everyones reaction. Good movie though, a ten film that manages to pull a bit of horror off, and has a bit of comedy on the side. But i found the film techniques they used in the film to be much more worthwhile to watch.
