Lionsgate Generates "Tenderness"
December 19, 2006 01:12:10Seemingly possessing good eye in picking up film projects, Lionsgate has successfully snatched the distribution rights to promising thriller feature "Tenderness" for the U.S, U.K, Australian, and South African regions, Variety has learned.
Being targeted to be launched domestically in late 2007, the flick is a GreeneStreet Films production which is also financed by iDeal Partners Film Fund and the Hanson Film Fund. Russell Crowe, Laura Dern, Jon Foster, and Sophie Traub are all starring with Australian filmmaker John Polson at helm.

April 19, 2006 11:04:28Aussie actor Russell Crowe has signed on to star in director John Polson's indie thriller "Tenderness". He is said to shoot the project in May.
"Tenderness" was adapted by screenwriter Emil Stern from the novel by Robert Cormier. It follows a violent teenager, Eric, whose life intertwines with Lori, a 16-year-old runaway who can't resist his charm.

November 24, 2005 01:11:43GreeneStreet is financing a new thriller genre titled "Tenderness." Adapted by Emil Stern from the novel by Robert Cormier the film tells the story of a teen serial killer and a 16-year-old runaway who can't resist the murderer's charm.
Has come aboard to helm the film for GreeneStreet Films is John Polson, with Turtleback Prods.' Howard Meltzer to produce. Meanwhile, Charles Randolph is slated to exec produce the pic. Shooting of the film is about to begin early next year.
