'Taken' Steals Box Office Top Slot From 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop'

Debuted on Friday, January 30, 20th Century Fox kidnapping thriller "Taken" has shot up to the top of the North American box office chart. Seizing $24.7 million over the three-day weekend, the Pierre Morel-directed film has won over "Paul Blart: Mall Cop", which has dominated the box office for two weekends in a row.

"Taken" doesn't stop only at stealing "Paul Blart" #1 position since it has also secured itself as the second-biggest Super Bowl opening. The Liam Neeson-starring CIA thriller lands behind "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour", which collected $31.1 million over 2008 Super Bowl weekend.

Bryan Mills is former paramilitary officer from the CIA's famed Special Activities Division. He is also a father of a 17-year-old girl. When his teenage girl who is having a vacation in Paris gets abducted by a criminal organization, he jets off to the city of lights and rely on his skills in tracking down the gang and rescuing his daughter.

In the brand new trailer of "Taken", it can be seen how Bryan Mills first discovers that his daughter is being kidnapped and threatens the abductors that he will hunt them down. This final trailer also gives out glimpses of the actions Mills are in on his mission to find where her daughter is being kept.

Good Luck Clip From Luc Besson's 'Taken'

A brand new clip from "Taken" has just made its way out. Around two-and-a-half-minute long, the video footage is entitled "Good Luck". It highlights on the scene when Bryan Mills digs up clues from his distraught daughter, Kim, after she witnesses her friend, Amanda, is being taken away by two men.

Starring Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace, the action thriller for the 20th Century Fox resolves around Mills, a former US intelligence agent. When he finds out that his teenage daughter is being kidnapped in Paris, he sets out to rescue her and bring the ruthless gang that abducted her to justice by relying on his special skills.

Holly Valance Gets "Taken"

Fresh from her role in game-based flick "DOA: Dead or Alive", Holly Valance is reportedly taking her next big screen acting in "Taken", which has just submitted "Lost" star Maggie Grace in the cast lineup.

No word yet on what role the beauty will play, but the film's story centers on a former spy, played by Liam Neeson, who tries to rescue his estranged daughter (Grace) upon learning that she is kidnapped by slave masters in Europe.

Seems big screen roles really suits Maggie Grace as time goes by. Already attached to two movie projects for future releases, the beauty is now reported to have landed the female lead opposite Liam Neeson in "Taken", an action thriller of Luc Besson's Europa Corp. and the 20th Century Fox production.

Here the "Lost" star is plotted as the estranged daughter of Neeson's character who is kidnapped and forced into the slave trade, leading the father, a former spy agent, to use his skills in rescuing her.

I could tell by the previews that this movie was going to be awesome, and I was soo right..KICK ASS!!!
