The next "Superman" movie, "", apparently will see once again Lex Luthor, the famed Superman villain which has appeared in most of the live-action films. Within an article from The Independent focusing on the interview with , it is revealed that the "" actor will reprise his role as the baddie in the reboot movie.

Part of the article read, "...the producers of the follow-up to Superman Returns...will be paying him big bucks to reprise his role as Lex Luthor next year." Mentioning that Spacey will return as Luthor next year in "Man of Steel", the article also ignites speculation that the production of the new "Superman" film may start sometime in 2009. Nevertheless, Warner Bros. Pictures have yet to let out confirmation or denial regarding both reports.

Following Warner Bros. Pictures' decision of having a remake instead of a sequel for their next "Superman" film, another interesting tidbit has come out suggesting that this new superhero movie may be made into a trilogy. In a recent interview with G4 TV, comic book author Mark Millar confessed that he has planned to make three new "Superman" films in the style of "Lord of the Rings".

Noting that he has been approached by a director friend months earlier on the possibility of him writing the new "Superman" installment if "" is put on the back burner, Millar responded by sharing his dream. "I've had this plan for like 10 years for a big three-picture Superman thing, like a Lord of the Rings epic, starting over from scratch again with a seven-hour Superman story," he said. "One to be released each year."

After sparking a major question of where they are going to bring the next "Superman" movie, Warner Bros. Pictures have finally confirmed to start the project right from the scratch once again meaning that they are going to reboot the franchise. The confirmation of the remake has been offered by Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov to Wall Street Journal.

In Wall Street's recent article, Robinov stated that the decision to reintroduce the 'man of steel' has to be taken after the considerable failure of "". "Superman [Returns] didn't quite work as a film in the way that we wanted it to," Robinov said. "It didn't position the character the way he needed to be positioned. Had Superman worked in 2006, we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009. But now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman without regard to a Batman and Superman movie at all."

In the latest interview, the award-winning graphic novelist revealed that he already has a new feature film project in mind and this time, he confessed that he is looking forward to reinvent one particular superhero, Superman.

He further acknowledged that his movie project has had its director and producer without indicating who the two are. At last the sequel is coming to development. Variety has confirmed that a follow up to this year's "" will be made with Bryan Singer to once again direct and produce for Warner Bros. Pictures. However, as with any other project, there are several factors that must be addressed first before it is greenlit.

Expected to be backed up by Legendary Pictures in financial matters for the second time, the movie is tentatively set for a summer 2009 release using a production budget below $200 million regardless of Warner's statement saying there's not even a script or budget yet.
