A Slew of 'The Legend of Chun-Li' On-Set Photos Exposed
July 31, 2008 12:07:56Long without any new report, the video game adaptation movie "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" has brought in a treat for fans. Giving a glimpse into how the movie may look like, the Andrzej Bartkowiak-directed film has gotten a batch of behind-the-scene images from its production.
Revealed by Legend Films, the eleven pictures displayed what happens on the set of "Legend of Chun-Li" and one of them exposed for the first time Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog who is originally named Mike Bison. While another one centers on Kristin Kreuk as the titular character, most of remaining photos highlight on the atmosphere of the shooting location and the military force.

'Street Fighter' Movie Eliminates Ken and Ryu, Undergoes Costume Adjustment

If that question is brought up in front of video game lovers, the common answers given maybe Ken and Ryu, the two main fighters in the popular fighting game series. However, one should not expect the two characters to appear in the new adaptation movie of the video games series, "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li".
Answering fans' burning question whether the two martial artists are going to have parts in the film, producer Patrick Aiello brought in a considerably bad news. He stated that because the action film will be focused on Chun-Li and the video games contains tons of characters, there are no other choice but to cut off both Ken and Ryu's characters from the tidbit.

Fortunately, those in question do not have wait any longer to get the first glimpse into the character first introduced through video game in the '90s. On Friday, May 23, Capcom of Japan have released a photo exposing the actress as Chun Li in the movie.
In the picture, Kreuk does not appear anywhere near the famed female character in "Street Fighter" game. Captured from the neck above, the "Smallville" actress looked unkempt and missing out Li's signature blue outfit and 'ox-horns' hairstyle. It is said that the photo cannot be considered as an official photo yet.

According to Variety, the hip-hop artist will be joining Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Klein and Rick Yune in the project.
Despite the fact that it was said that the 32-year-old rapper has been signed in, further details about what role he will be playing hasn't been revealed. Still, Variety reported that the man that has made a cameo appearance in John Travolta's "Be Cool" joined the cast with "Pathfinder" actress Moon Bloodgood, Singapore's Edmund Chen and Hong Kong film star Cheng Pei Pei.

ComingSoon.net has come up with news claiming "Smallville" star Kristin Kreuk has been signed on to play the female fighter in this Hyde Park Entertainment's live-action adaptation of the popular Capcom video game.
Principal photography is reported to start in March 2008 using locations in Thailand with 20th Century Fox handling the distribution matters. "Doom" helmer Andrzej Bartkowiak has been tapped to direct from script by Justin Marks, which focuses on Chun-Li's journey for justice.

Action Specialist Hired to Direct Street Fighter
September 06, 2007 04:09:26Conducting a fundamental move in developing their film project of "Street Fighter", Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom Ltd. have successfully got action specialist Andrzej Bartkowiak on board to direct the project, which will be the second effort in bringing up a live-action flick based on the popular video game after the 1994 movie.
Bartkowiak, a native of Lodz, Poland, has been known for his helming efforts in action genre, being the director of "Exit Wounds", "Cradle 2 the Grave", and "Doom", which was also adapted from the video game of the same name. During his early career in filmmaking, the man initially worked as a cinematographer whose credits include "Terms of Endearment", "Prizzi's Honor", "Speed", and "U.S. Marshals."

Hyde Park and Capcom Constructing New "Street Fighter" Movie
October 31, 2006 09:10:04Back in 1994, moviegoers was already presented with a videogame adaptation of "Street Fighter" starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and now a newer big screen version is about to be made through a joint venture between Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom Ltd..
Tentatively titled the same as the game's name, the project is said to take its focus on the game's most popular female fighter Chun-Li, but plot details are still being kept under wraps though it is revealed that Justin Marks has been appointed to write the screenplay.
