'Alien vs. Predator' Helmer Not Up for 'Spy Hunter'
August 18, 2008 03:08:48Having been announced to be attached as helmer and co-writer to a video game adaptation "Spy Hunter" in the summer of 2007, it appears that Paul W.S. Anderson is no longer involved in the project. The speculation of him not directing the project has been ignited through Latino Review's interview with the man behind "Alien vs. Predator" and video game adaptation "Resident Evil".
Coming to talk about his other action thriller project "Death Race", the 43-year-old filmmaker hinted on the probability of him tackling the film. "I had some what fun making this movie and I firmly believe this is the best, most spectacular car action I've ever seen in a film, I don't know if I'll ever do another car movie after this because I really feel like we pushed it to the max and the only other car movie I'll do is maybe a sequel to this," so claimed Anderson.

Paul W.S. Anderson Is "Spy Hunter" New Helmer
June 04, 2007 03:06:16The seat abandoned by John Woo in "Spy Hunter" finally gets a new taker. "Resident Evil" helmer Paul W.S. Anderson has been reported to fill in the Chinese filmmaker's position after the man decided to leave the flick last year.
Being so, Anderson will work on alongside another writer to pen the project, which has already gone through several writers, like Michael Brandt, Derek Haas, Zak Penn, and Stuart Beattie. While Adrian Askarieh, Chuck Gordon, and Jeremy Bolt are all still serving as the producers, it is unclear yet whether Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will continue to star in.

John Woo Quits "Spy Hunter" and "He-Man"
July 04, 2006 12:07:15It certainly will take a longer time for moviegoers to see both "Spy Hunter" and "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" on big screen as director John Woo has been claimed to no longer be attached to the projects, so CanMag.com has reported. The site also added that Woo has shifted his focus on making films back in his native Asia instead, causing the uncertainty of the future of those two movies consequently.
However, there seems to be a flicker of hope in "Spy Hunter" side for the flick's producer Adrian Askarieh has convinced that the project is still in development despite Woo's departure. "Spy-Hunter has not been shelved permanently," he stated. "We are in talks with a great writer/director to take over 'Spy-Hunter' and will be making an announcement shortly. 'Spy-Hunter' is alive and well."
