First Photos From 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' Unveiled

The first official pictures from Disney's fantasy movie "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" have been unveiled by Fanboyz.net. The three images, which were scanned from an unnamed magazine, give a glimpse at two of the movie's characters, Balthazar Blake and Dave Stutler.

The first image features the master sorcerer who is seen talking to his younger partner while he points his index finger to Dave. Another picture, additionally, exposes Balthazar in his all-black outfit walking through a gate. Meanwhile, the latest shot captures Dave striking a fighting pose.

A couple of days after the filming of a car chase sequence went horribly wrong, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" is hit with another mishap. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, May 6, nine crew members of the drama fantasy movie suffered minor injuries as a result of a car accident near the film's Times Square set.

This most recent incident took place at about 3:28 A.M. when a New Jersey woman, Laura Conti, crashed her SUV near the set. According to police, Conti was driving her SUV south on Seventh Avenue when swerved to avoid a taxi that had cut into her lane. Instead of hitting the taxi, her car collided with two parked cars before jumping the curb at West 51st Street, where crew members were sitting.

Nicolas Cage-Starrer 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' Hit With Car Stunt Accident

Nicolas Cage's in-production movie, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", made headline after a filming of car chase sequence went awry. The filming accident, which caused two bystanders to suffer minor injuries, occurred Monday, May 4, shortly before 1 A.M. at the Sbarro at 47th Street and Seventh Avenue Street when one of the cars used in the chase sequence suddenly careened into a pizza parlor.

In a video posted on the New York Post site, it can be seen that before the accident took place, the crew were filming an action scene which required a Ferrari to pass several vehicles in pursuit of a Mercedes along the closed-to-traffic Seventh Avenue. While the action unfolded, the Ferrari lost control and mounted the sidewalk before then crashing into the window of an outlet of an Italian restaurant chain.

'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' Set for 2010 Release

A release date has been fixed on "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". On Thursday, March 19, Walt Disney Pictures have announced that they have added the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced family adventure to their 2010 calendar, scheduling it to be officially released in theaters across the U.S. on July 16, 2010.

Placing it on July 16 release, the mouse house have placed this live-action feature film in a head-to-head battle for the box office with Christopher Nolan-directed sci-fi action "Inception". With the date, "Apprentice" becomes Disney's third movie to be released in 2010 after "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" is set for May 28, 2010 and "Toy Story 3" for June 18, 2010.

Wonder to know what it'll look like if Disney's animated classic "Fantasia" is turned into a live-action flick? Soon we will see it for sure as Nicolas Cage is set to bring up "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" for the company.

Variety has reported that the Oscar-winning actor has given agreement to produce the project via his Saturn Films with partner Norm Golightly. Also on board to take the same duty is Todd Garner who will carry out the task through his Broken Road Productions.
