The Little 'Chicken' Leads Box Office

The small being is indeed big at the North American box office. "Chicken Little," the family animation comedy successfully beats other movies to lead the Top number 1 with $40.1 million debut. Right after at No. 2 is drama "Jarhead" which opens with $28.8 million.

At No. 3 is "Saw 2," which taking in $17.2 million, ahead of "The Legend of Zorro" at 4th with $10 million and "Prime" at 5th with $5.3 million. Securing the 6th position is "Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story," taking in $4.8 million.

Love, tricks, and sex are all the staple supplies Steve Martin needs for his upcoming film, "Shopgirl." Showcases his versatility, the film begun with Martin's prose, his best-selling novella about a depressive wallflower pursued by a rich older man and an awkward young slacker.

Acts as the film producer, Martin also will star in as a lonely older man looking for love while settling for sex with a woman half his age. Joining him is Claire Danes as the wallflower named Mirabelle Buttersfield, and Jason Schwartzman as the slacker Jeremy Kraft.
