'Cabin in the Woods' to Open a Week Before 'Saw VI'
August 22, 2008 11:08:52The latest horror thriller flick from "Cloverfield"'s scribe Drew Goddard, "Cabin in the Woods", has received its theatrical release date. The MGM's film that is yet to begin production is slated to be debuted on the big screen on October 23, 2009.
The date chosen put "Cabin" in theaters exactly a week before the sixth installment of slasher movie series, "Saw VI", hits. Meanwhile, "Saw VI" itself which will be directed by the editor of "Saw" series, Kevin Greutert, has been locked to the October 30, 2009 release.

2008 San Diego Comic Con Wrap Up (Part 1/2)

'Saw VI' to Be Developed, David Hackl Replaced
May 15, 2008 02:05:09Apparently, Lions Gate Films still do not get enough of their horror thriller franchise "Saw". Though the fifth film about a psychopathic murderer with deathly traps has yet to generate screams in any theaters everywhere, a sixth film has been planned and it won't have director David Hackl as its helmer for the second time in a row.
In "Saw VI", the first time director will be replaced by another newcomer in the directing business, Kevin Greutert. Like Hackl who has been involved with the production of the earlier "Saw" movies, Greutert is the editor of all five "Saw" franchise, including the upcoming "Saw V". The news of Greutert's selection was broken out by Hackl himself on Wednesday, May 14 when talking with ShockTillYouDrop.com.

Matthew Goode and Ben Whisaw Picked for "Brideshead Revisited"
February 12, 2007 01:02:57Ready to establish a solid team onscreen, Matthew Goode and Ben Whisaw have landed deals to star together in dramatic feature "Brideshead Revisited", a big screen adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's 1945 novel of the same title.
Goode will be billed as the protagonist, Charles Ryder, made famous in the U.K. by Jeremy Irons in a previous TV adaptation, while Whisaw as his good friend Sebastian Flyte, previously played by Anthony Andrews.
