Rush Hour 3 Speeds to the Box Office's Top Slot
August 13, 2007 10:08:13Summer appears to still belong to sequel title indeed as "Rush Hour 3" gloriously follows the trail of "The Bourne Ultimatum" to go straight to the top in its debut on weekend domestic box office yet ironically replaces the spy movie as the No. 1 movie on the chart running August 10-12, 2007.
Scores big at $49.1 million, the buddy cop comedy triumphantly outdistances the $32.9 million the last week's champ has garnered this time, forcing it to go one spot down to the second position, right above "The Simpsons Movie" which manages to add another $11.3 million in its third-place feedbag to raise a total gross of $152.4 million.

Daily Variety has obtained information from China's powerful state-run Film Bureau that permission for the movie's launch on the mainland had been withheld for commercial reason, which the entertainment paper perceived as 'a surprising justification' if looking on the box office successes the previous two installments made in China.

Roman Polanski Is in A "Rush"
October 27, 2006 04:10:38It is already confirmed earlier that Roman Polanski will star in the highly anticipated "Rush Hour 3." The actor reportedly is slated to portray the role of a French police officer who harasses Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan's characters in several scenes while the stars battle a wing of a Chinese organized-crime family.
Brett Ratner told Daily Variety that he persuaded Polanski to appear after a chance encounter while in pre-production in Paris. "Roman is my favorite director and my favorite actor, so I asked Jeff Nathanson to write him into the movie," said the director.

"He wants too much power. The movie company hasn't obliged. He wants final editing rights and the final look at the movie and so on," so Chan said to The Associated Press Thursday. Further the actor suggests his co-star, saying "He's still a new actor. How many movies has he made? Two movies have already made him very famous and made him a lot of money. He needs to learn slowly."
