Viggo Mortensen Says His 'The Road' Role Emotionally Demanding

Billed to be the lead star in "", has filmed the movie during the winter and had to reduce his weight. Though playing the character has made him tired physically, the depicter of Aragorn in "Lord of the Rings" trilogy claimed his role was more emotionally demanding. "Yeah. To be honest, that was the hardest part," he told Collider in a recent interview.

"It was harder than the physical part, for me. I mean, I've been in movies where I've had to do physical, you know, whether I was in extreme heat or cold, mountains, horse work, fights, all that," Mortensen explained. "But it's a whole other thing to be naked emotionally in a way that's not just a distraction or a character."

Dimension Films has presented another look at the November-released "" in the form of a new trailer. Debuted via Yahoo! Movies, the two-minute plus sneak peek offers a more depressing tone of the movie. A narration is provided by leading man , while glimpses of him and his on-screen son, , struggling to survive flash.

This post-apocalyptic movie is based on Cormac McCarthy's best-selling, Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. It follows an unnamed father and his young son as they make their way toward the coast for possible food, shelter and safety after an unspecified cataclysmic event. With scarce shelter and resources available to them, they have to avoid the lawless cannibalistic bands that stalk the road along the way.

In anticipation of the October release of "", five brand new clips from the drama thriller have been making their rounds. One of the snippets gives away a closer look at 's character, while the rest of the clips center their attention on 's and his on-screen son, .

The clip with Theron exposes the time her character tells Mortensen's that they only have two bullets left. When he tries to comfort her, she explains to him that the people hunting them will eventually catch up and kill them. The other four clips, on the other hand, see Mortensen's struggling to keep his son safe and finding food for both of them.

Which films are included in the 66th Venice International Film Festival's line-up have been unveiled. On Thursday, July 30, Paolo Baratta, the President of the Venice Biennale, and Marco Muller, the Director of the Cinema section, announced the festival's selection, which included 71 world premieres, at a press conference in Rome's Excelsior Hotel on the Via Veneto.

Listed among the movies vying for a Golden Lion are six U.S. feature films. Dimension Films have finally released the first trailer for "". Teasing what the drama thriller has to offer, the video footage starts by showing the world is being hit with global cataclysm which alters the face of the planet. Then, it moves on with glimpses of and making their way through the post-apocalyptic landscape.

The trailer has come out firstly via Yahoo! Movies. Aside from displaying the post-apocalyptic imagery and the snippets of the danger that Mortensen and his on-screen son Smit-McPhee face when going on the journey, the video also shares many glimpses of the flashback scenes, exposing as the Wife.

'The Road' Possibly Delayed to 2009

"", a drama thriller film based on Cormac McCarthy's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, is rumored to be pushed back from its initial release date. In an article from Entertainment Weekly, Dave Karger has predicted that the flick may be available for 2009 release, contrary to the movie official site's notion that "The Road" has been slated to be released on November 14.

Supporting report comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which claimed that the movie, in fact, has been quietly delayed to be released at least in December with a possibility of 2009 release. Furthermore, the publication has reported that on Thursday, October 16, studio executives are scheduled to discuss with "Road" producers whether the flick will be released this year.

A project potential to raise moviegoers' tension is going to come out from the hands of renowned producer Nick Wechsler. Variety reported that the man is on board to produce a horror-thriller feature titled "" which will be developed based on Cormac McCarthy's new novel of the same title.

Set after a nuclear explosion, the picture centers in a man who tries to transport his son to a safe place while struggling to survive from starving stragglers and marauding packs of cannibals. Australian filmmaker John Hillcoat has been attached to direct with Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz also producing.

This movie was a masterpiece. Yes it was very upsetting, but also inspiring, the writing, directing, acting, special effects and plot were all acceptional. Bravo!
