'Burn After Reading' Blazing at the Box Office
September 15, 2008 09:09:38Joel and Ethan Coen's drama comedy "Burn After Reading" has led the North American box office's pack. Claiming the coveted #1 position, the Focus Features film helps to bring an end to the seven consecutive super-slow weekends following the superb opening of "The Dark Knight" and marks a rebound from last week's worst weekend sales in five years.
With $19.1 million, the George Clooney and Brad Pitt-starrer flick has become the best movie debut ever for the filmmakers brothers. Their previous movies to open above the $10 million milestone are 2004's comedy starring Tom Hanks, "Ladykillers" with $12.6 million opening and 2003's Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones-starrer "Intolerable Cruelty" with $12.5 million debut.

Robert De Niro and Al Pacino's 'Righteous Kill' Gets Red Band Trailer
August 16, 2008 09:08:40Overture Films have just delivered the red band trailer to their latest crime drama that pairs up Robert De Niro and Al Pacino for the first time, "Righteous Kill". Through it viewers can see the dynamic between the two Academy Award-winners as well as the acting of 50 Cent. Though it is not a bloodbath kind of trailer, the more than three minutes video footage is still filled with crude language and violence.
Taking one last case before they hang up their badges and enjoy their retirement days, NYPD detectives David Fisk and Thomas Cowan are faced with a murder of a notorious pimp. When they find the lifeless body of a suspected criminal with a four line poem, they realize that it can be linked to a case they had solved years ago. But, with this new murder crime, they question whether they put the wrong person behind bars while the real killer is still out there looking for a new target.
