Brian De Palma's Redacted Threatened to Get Boycotted
November 15, 2007 01:11:06Lashing out at Bill O'Reilly for criticizing "Redacted", executive producer for the movie Mark Cuban has received harsh response from the FOX News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor" anchor. The famous political commentator now is calling for his listeners to protest the Brian De Palma-directed drama, which depicts the real tragic events surrounding a U.S. army squad that targets and persecutes an innocent Iraqi girl and her family.
Accusing Cuban to have a grudge against the States while deeming his film to incite anti-American hatred around the world, O'Reilly has asked the ticket holders to Cuban-owned Dallas Maverick games to bring signs to the arena saying 'support the troops.' The man has also advised others to bring the same sign in front of the theaters they find out to screen the movie.

August 16, 2007 05:08:47In the follow-up of their announcement of "The Darjeeling Limited" to open this year's New York Film Festival, organizers of the event finally brought to the surface on Wednesday, August 15, the full list of movies set to be screened in their celebration to the festival's 45th anniversary, opening September 28, 2007.
Consisting of many widely-anticipated U.S. features, the list put in those like skater drama "Paranoid Park", family dramedy "Margot at the Wedding", Iraq war-themed "Redacted", thriller drama "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead", and Todd Haynes' unconventional Bob Dylan biopic "I'm Not There."

The 2007 Venice Film Fest Lineup Unveiled
July 28, 2007 11:07:59Constructing an intriguing line-up of film titles this year, organizers of the Venice Film Festival have officially revealed on Thursday, July 26 the full list of movies set to be presented at the event, held for the 64th time in its 75th anniversary celebration.
For In Competition section, there will be twenty one flick set to be featured in apart from the previously-announced "Atonement" which will be the opening film at the festival, all to encounter their world premiere. About half are either American or British productions, like "The Darjeeling Limited", "Sleuth", "Redacted", "Michael Clayton", "I'm Not There", and "In the Valley of Elah."

Brian De Palma Prints the "Redacted" Text
January 06, 2007 10:01:43Determines to tackle the same subject matter as his 1989 effort "Casualties of War", director Brian De Palma is about to re-visit the theme with a new project entitled "Redacted", Production Weekly has learned.
Slated to enter production by early April, the feature will be based on the recent events surrounding the rape and murder of a 14-year old Iraqi girl also the killing of three of her family members by four U.S soldiers. So far, there are no cast members and writer attached yet.
