'Pulse 2: Afterlife' Heading to DVD Late September

"Pulse 2: Afterlife", a direct-to-video sequel to "", is just around the corner as it is scheduled to be outed in DVD on September 30, 2008. To be distributed by Dimension Extreme, the horror thriller movie picks up its sequel story right where the first film left off.

In the follow-up film, it will be seen that the world has been changed forever by the invading ghosts coming via wireless Internet. Mankind is on the brink of extinction, many cities are now deserted by its citizen and technology involving anything electrical has been destroyed to stop the spirits from taking over the world. When all hope seem to be lost, two divorced parents are forced to go inside this chaotic world to find their missing daughter.

"Pulse" Sparking Two Sequels

Despite the modest result of "" on the box office, the filmmakers of the horror flick appear to still eager to continue the story on the big screen. Moviehole has reported that figures behind the film are aiming to produce not only one but two sequels to the picture, which was released on August 11 last year.

The site points out that producer Joel Soisson will return for the follow-ups and has already had Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton onboard to pen the two scripts while aiming to make two straight-to-video sequels in addition to the movies. As for the cast, it is unlikely that and Ian Somerhalder will reprise their roles there.

Though the NASCAR spoof's gross dropped 51 percent from its high-octane opening week, it delightfully was able to add another $23 million to its pocket during the weekend and so, halted the move of newcomer "" on the second spot as the dance flick only managed to garner around $21 million in its debut on the theaters. Taking up number three is Oliver Stone's "" which made its way to earn $19 million to make a respectable income of $26.8 million after opening Wednesday, August 9.
