Holiday Movie Guide: The December Movies to Check Out (Part 2/2)
November 27, 2009 08:11:08Continuing the 2009 holiday movies list, here AceShowbiz presents the second part of the two-part holiday movie guide. Similar to Part I, it offers two categories of movies. This time around, the remaining feature films coming out in December 2009 are divided into "Pure Entertainment" and "Limited Releases".
The majority of the films compiled in the "Pure Entertainment" can be enjoyed with the family. In fact, some of them are designed for kids to enjoy. The "Limited Releases", in the meantime, lists charming movies which will be screened in limited theaters across the U.S. this holiday season. Among Part II's selection are side-splitting "It's Complicated" and heart-touching "Hachiko: A Dog's Story".

A Look at the Music of 'The Princess and the Frog'
November 06, 2009 02:11:15Most of Disney's animations are famed for their everlasting songs, and with "The Princess and the Frog" fast approaching its theatrical release, the mouse house prepares a special featurette highlighting on the music of the new animation. The featurette provides sneak peek at some of the songs listed in the soundtrack with guidance from star Anika Noni Rose.
In the promo video, Rose first talked about her character Tiana and her other favorite character from the film, the lovesick Cajun firefly named Ray. As she discussed about the music, Keith David's track "Friends on the Other Side" and Jenifer Lewis' "Dig a Little Deeper" get a brief preview. The actress later went on explaining what makes her "Almost There" song a unique one.

Snippets to 'The Princess and the Frog' Soundtrack Streamed
October 16, 2009 02:10:57"The Princess and the Frog" soundtrack won't be available for purchase in stores across United States until November 23, but snippets to the original songs and scores featured in the album have been made available for listening. All of the 17 tracks are streamed in parts at the film's soundtrack page of Walt Disney Records website.
The album consists of 10 original songs and 7 original scores. While the orchestral scores are composed and conducted by Academy Award-winning composer Randy Newman, most of the songs are performed by the cast ensemble, Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Michael Leon-Wooley, Bruno Campos, Jim Cummings and Jenifer Lewis.

First Five Minutes of 'The Princess and the Frog' Found
October 06, 2009 11:10:35The first five minutes of "The Princess and the Frog" has just made its way out. It exposes that the story begins in Charlotte La Bouff's room with Tiana's mother reading "The Frog Prince" tale to Charlotte and Tiana. Though offering a look at Tiana as a child and her take on kissing a frog, some parts of the animation are still unfinished.
"The Princess and the Frog" is set in the great city of New Orleans. It follows free-spirited, jazz-loving Prince Naveen of Maldonia turned into a frog by a shady voodoo doctor. In his desperate attempt to be human again, he asks a kiss from a young African-American girl named Tiana. But, instead of finding himself becoming a human again, he learns that Tiana has also been turned into a frog.

'The Princess and the Frog': Extended Clip and Featurette
September 29, 2009 01:09:01Promoting its latest hand-drawing animation feature film, Walt Disney Pictures releases two brand new videos for "The Princess and the Frog". One is an extended clip, while the other is a featurette focusing on the story the movie will be presenting. Both video are clocking in at a similar length, which is around three minutes long each.
The extended clip, "Kiss the Frog", features the trouble Prince Naveen gets into when he tries to convince Tiana to help him break the frog curse by giving him one kiss. The featurette, on the other hand, puts three of the major characters, Naveen, Tiana and Doctor Facilier, under the spotlight as voice actors, Bruno Campos, Anika Noni Rose and Keith David, explain the relation of the three.

Clocking in at two minutes and thirty seconds, the fresh trailer shares a look at the comedic side of the upcoming animation film as well as parts of the musical numbers to be enjoyed.

'The Princess and the Frog' Welcomes Its Full Trailer
May 11, 2009 11:05:30Before the full trailer of "The Princess and the Frog" comes out in theaters attached to "Up", Walt Disney Animation Studios have premiered it earlier. Displaying a sneak peek to Disney's return to their hand-drawn animation, the trailer first made its way out during an episode of "Wizards of Waverly Place" on Disney Channel.
Clocking at 2:23, the trailer opens with a look at past 2-D animations done by the studio from "Aladdin" to "Lion King". The footage following shows that Disney are bringing another classic tale to life, displaying the time the Princess sees the frog for the first time and offers him a kiss. The frog then answers the princess, before explaining his condition and getting himself a much needed kiss. But, to their surprises, the kiss doesn't work like it supposed to.

Keith David Scares the "Princess and the Frog"
July 05, 2007 04:07:50"Crash" star Keith David will assist in Walt Disney's production "The Princess and the Frog". He is set to fill in the voice of villain Dr. Facilier in the musical animated picture.
With David's addition, the line up so far is brought to two with Anika Noni Rose already on board. Rose will voice the main character Princess Tiana, a young girl living in the French Quarter and accompanied by a singing crocodile.

2-D Returns in Disney's "Frog Princess"
July 28, 2006 11:07:59Seemingly goes against the flow of the 3-D era in animation, Walt Disney Feature Animation (WDFA) has set eyes to produce its new feature, "The Frog Princess", back to traditional 2-D style instead of the 3-D CGI method, so Variety has revealed.
Therefore being the latest 2-D project since the studio's 2004 work of "Home on the Range", the animated movie will be developed by writer-directors Ron Clements and John Musker who both have teamed up in previous Disney's films like "Treasure Planet", "Aladdin", and "The Little Mermaid" with Disney's longtime composer Alan Menken working on the music score.
