'Iron Man' Star Robert Downey Jr. About to Be 'Playboy' Legend
May 24, 2008 11:05:50Words are circulating that "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. is going to trade his amour suit with a red and black smoking jacket to portray the legendary Playboy magazine founder, Hugh Hefner. The acclaimed actor allegedly will be depicting Hefner in "Playboy" after getting thumbs up from the 'bunny' master himself.
Report from Chicago Sun-Times claimed that the 82-year-old Hefner wants Downey Jr. to play him in the biopic after he saw the actor in "Iron Man". From Downey Jr.'s side, his representative let out that the co-star of Ben Stiller and Jack Black in "Tropic Thunder" is indeed interested in the project but won't make it a done deal until the script is ready and a director has been signed.

July 13, 2007 04:07:49Early buzz on the casting lineup for "Playboy" appears to have taken flight by now as UK's The Guardian has come up with an interesting notion saying Leonardo DiCaprio is involved in talks to portray the lead role in the project, none other than Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner.
"Leo thinks it would make a great movie and Hugh would love Leo to do it -- on the condition that Hugh is alive to see it," an unnamed source informed the paper.

June 25, 2007 01:06:56Stepping into the territory he never lands before in filmmaking, Brett Ratner is about to direct a biographical feature based on the life of Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner at Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, Variety has reported.
Simply entitled "Playboy", the project will be produced by Brian Grazer and gets its script penned by John Hoffman, who most recently wrote "Queen of the Jews", a biopic of scandal-scarred former Miss America Bess Myerson. Hefner is learned to have given approval on the take last week during a meeting at the Playboy Mansion.
