Tom Shadyac Meets the "Planetwalker"
November 08, 2006 10:11:36Known more as a director for comedic flicks, American filmmaker Tom Shadyac now is steering into a new direction. The man is reported by Variety to have reached a deal to helm as well as to produce a biographical feature titled "Planetwalker" for Universal.
Based on John Francis' memoir of the same name, the picture centers on the true story of Francis who took a vow of silence for nearly two decades and commenced a cross-country pilgrimage by foot to raise environmental awareness after witnessing a collision of two oil tankers that wiped out the ecosystem in San Francisco Bay in 1971.
