July 17, 2006 10:07:19The estimated ticket sales at the North American box office for July 14-16 period shows the dominance of the "Pirates". The adventure, action, comedy flick, tentatively titled "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", taking in another $62.2 million in ticket sales, thus rules the movie chart for a second weekend.
On top of that attainment, the movie also has quickly become the year's top-grossing film, rocketing past "X-Men: The Last Stand," which has taken in $232 million in eight weeks, with the "Pirates" sequel raising its 10-day total to $258.2 million. Meanwhile, The Wayans brothers comedy "Little Man" claims the 2nd spot with about $21.7 million, just one place ahead of "You, Me and Dupree" at 3rd with $21.3 million.

Such amount obviously makes the flick scores the record for best three-day opening of all time. Top 10 Highest-Grossing Movies in Box Office Week-List
July 03, 2006 11:07:47Great is presumably the right word to describe the return of Man of Steel on big screen. The latest installment of the hero, "Superman Returns", has satisfyingly worked its charm toward the audience to top this week's box-office list with $52.15 million it has gathered over opening weekend, altogether making $84.2 million of its five-day total since its Wednesday debut.
Another new wide release, "The Devil Wears Prada", also resulted well on the chart, taking up the second position after successfully garnering $27 million which was beyond industry analysts' expectation that have assumed the movie to debut less than $20 million. Last week's number 1, "Click", secured the third with $19.4 million followed by "Cars" and "Nacho Libre" on number 4 and 5, respectively.

It's a great movie that i've seen this year, and I think that Ana de la Reguera was the best

With these types of movies I'm not suprised the critics hated it. As time moves on the older crowd becomes more and more confounded with reasoning behind comedy that the younger audiences enjoy. They're probably wondering what it was that we found so entertaining about the movie. Bland humor with none other that can be classified as just plain "Silly" is crowd pleasing. Silly antics and simple humor, paired with fresh faced cast make the movie a success. Jack Black was the lead role, but being backed up by people in their first "major" film is what truly gives this film character. Memorable lines, and dreams of achieving our goals in life is what makes this movie hilarious, and memorable for many years to come.

A simple comedy of pure genius . Jack Black earns the title 'the great' in this movie. His conflicted Ignacio, torn between his desire for glory as a wrestler, his desire for the delectable Sister Encarnacion, and his wish to earn money for the orphans at his monastery, leaves us howling with laughter in scene after scene. Even the soundtrack is gently funny. The best comedy to come along in a long, long time.
