Producer J.J. Abrams has previously talked about how cool it would be if some of "Mission: Impossible" cast members make a cameo in the fourth feature installment, but star Martin Landau apparently shared no similar feeling. In an interview with MTV News, the Rollin Hand of the original TV series insisted that he has no interest to appear in "".

When asked whether he might take a participation in the in-development fourth film, the 81-year-old stated that he is not excited about making a mere cameo. "Unless it was a great part, which it probably isn't, it would probably be a cameo, a little joke, that wouldn't interest me at all," the Academy Award-winning actor shared.

The "Mission: Impossible" franchise is more than likely to have a new director for the fourth film, "". During an interview with MTV News, producer J.J. Abrams has expressed what he has in mind over the chance of him returning to the director's seat. "I'm producing with Tom [Cruise]," he said. "My guess is, given other things, that I will not be directing the movie."

Further, the 43-year-old opened up about the feature project itself. While making sure he didn't give too much, he did mention that the movie won't be a remake. "I don't want to give anything away yet, but I will say that it's a story that will feel consistent with the world that has been created," he shared. "It's not a reboot kind of thing."

The door of possibility that Leonard Nimoy may reprise his TV series role as The Great Paris in the forthcoming "" wasn't slammed shut by J.J. Abrams. Asked to address the matter when speaking to the press on Thursday, October 8 at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, the producer uttered, "How cool would that be?"

The "" director continued by mentioning Peter Graves who plays James Phelps, the leader of the elite IMF in the series. "I just got a call that Peter Graves is in great shape, which would be a very bizarre bend in the space-time continuum, for obvious reasons," he said as quoted by Collider. "I almost feel like you could make him serious again and bringing him back. Whether it's Nimoy, who I have an incredible affinity for, or Graves, or anyone, we'll see."

Josh and Andre have previously worked with Abrams as the executive producers of season four of ABC's series "Alias". On the chance to team up once again with the two, Abrams said, "I've been looking forward to working with Josh and Andre again for years. While nothing is official yet on the development of "", it is likely that filmmaker J.J. Abrams takes a part on the project. In an article printed on TV Guide, the director of "" confirmed that he has been asked by to produce the fourth installment.

Expressing his feeling on the invitation, the 42-year-old stated as quoted by the publication, "I am incredibly honored that Tom has invited me back as a producer on Mission Impossible 4." Though he didn't go further by unraveling other details, the "" director teased, "Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing." There's no word yet on whether or not he will direct.
