The 2007 Empire Awards Recipients Announced
March 28, 2007 03:03:05Collecting the votes from its readers, Britain's biggest selling film magazine Empire has finally listed out the honorees of its Empire Awards of which ceremony was held in London for the twelfth time.
Based on the votes, collected from over 50,000 people, the magazine proudly gave the top prize of Best Film to latest installment of 007 series "Casino Royale", in the meantime also named stars Daniel Craig and Eva Green the Best Actor and Best Female Newcomer, respectively.

Brad Pitt Slammed "Mission: Impossible" Shake-Up
September 23, 2006 02:09:47Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt has slammed rumors swirling among people out there that he's been tapped to replace Tom Cruise in the next installment of "Mission: Impossible" franchise.
Reports had been circulating around tinseltown that Paramount Pictures were eager to sign him. However, the actor has through his publicist claimed the rumors as "totally made up."

"M:I-3" Has Been Cleared for A July 18 Opening in China
June 12, 2006 02:06:17Negotiations are ended as agreements have been reached on the opening date of the highly anticipated flick "Mission: Impossible 3" in China. It has been decided that there will be some cuts to the movie, some of which are understood to involve scenes of violence, before its July 18 opening in the country.
"M:I-3," which was submitted in mid-April for approval in Beijing, as is standard procedure in China, faced complaints from communist censors about scenes of violence and shots depicting parts of Shanghai as a slum. Yuan Wenqiang, deputy manager of the import-export arm of state-run industry giant China Film Group Corp., confirmed that "M:I-3" would be released in mid-July, after a seasonal summer blackout of foreign films ends. This blackout runs through July 11.

The estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc., sees "The Break-Up" debuts more strongly than expected with $38.1 million to take over the No. 1 position from last week's champ, "X-Men: The Last Stand" which slips one to second spot with another $34.3million.
Cling at No. 3 is DreamWorks Animation's cartoon comedy "Over the Hedge" taking in $20.6 million, just one place ahead of the controversial flick "The Da Vinci Code" at No. 4 with $19.3 million. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated "Mission: Impossible 3" taking in $4.6 million to be at No. 5, then followed by "Poseidon" at No. 6 with $3.4 million. Rounding out the Top 10 among others are "R.V." at No. 7, "See No Evil" at No. 8, "An Inconvenient Truth" at No. 9, and "Just My Luck" to close the Top 10 movie chart.
