Mind-Bugling Opening Scene From 'Mirrors'
August 09, 2008 11:08:41For those who have not been crept out enough by "Mirrors", IGN Movies has posted a video exposing its first three minutes opening scene. Gory and hair-rising, the footage is an elaboration from the clip shown in the previous trailers where a terrified man looks into his reflection in the mirror while his reflection cuts of his throat.
Centering its story on an evil trying to make its way to the living world through mirrors, this Alexandre Aja's horror remake follows Ben Carson, a former cop turned burned down department store's head of security, in his struggle to save his family from the hand of vengeful spirit living in the mirrors. The 20th Century Fox's movie stars Kiefer Sutherland, Paula Patton, Amy Smart, Cameron Boyce and Erica Gluck and will be available in the big screen on August 15.

Providing movie lovers a chance to catch another behind-the-scene look into the movie, this featurette shows many unseen footages accompanied by in-depth description of the movie by its director, producer and stars, including Kiefer Sutherland and Paula Patton. Through this video footage, viewers can also get a much better look into the evil spirit lurking behind the mirrors.

The video footage released by the 20th Century Fox is more elaborated than the earlier released teaser trailers and provides viewers with gory looking footages as well as an understanding about the story.
Giving background story to the main character, the restricted trailer opens with Ben Carson hugging his son under the watchful eye of his estranged wife. Then, the footages continue by showing Carson going to a burned department store for a bit briefing of his new job. While wandering inside the store, he notices that there is a mirror that looks very clean amidst the mess.

Focusing its story on the evil mirror, the teaser displays how wicked the mirror is as it claims its victims one by one. When she opens the door, her son is sitting in front of a mirror reflecting his image. But as the boy shifts his sitting, his reflection does not go along with him. The featurette exposes literally behind-the-scene footages of the remake movie and is also aided with some explanation about the movie and main character by its star Kiefer Sutherland.
The slightly less than three-minutes video does not show any frame from the flick, instead it displays the footages from the on-set filming. Through this featurette, one can see the abandoned department store's set and the mirror that become the center of the story as well as a few raw footages of Sutherland's part. The video is also accompanied with Sutherland's description of his character that helps one to get the idea of the storyline.

February 06, 2007 04:02:28Kiefer Sutherland does know how to spend his hiatus from "24." The actor has given positive sign to topline "Mirrors", a supernatural thriller set up at New Regency with the 20th Century Fox to distribute.
The London-born actor will portray an ex-cop who tries to discover the origin of the evil upon finding something awry in the mirrors of a department store where he works at. Sutherland became available for the part when plans to carry his Jack Bauer character into the big screen version of the FOX hit TV series were postponed because the script was not ready yet.
