'Magneto' Is on the Back of Marvel's Queue
October 17, 2009 11:10:11There is a chance that "Magneto" will not see the light of day. Casting a doubt on the possibility of the solo mutant movie heading into the big screen was "X-Men" series producer Lauren Shuler Donner herself when talking to Empire at the Los Angeles promotional junket for the new "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" Blu-ray.
"David Goyer has written a brilliant script. It starts in the concentration camps and has Magneto coming out of there," Donner said before dropping the bomb. "But you know, I'm not sure that film is going to be made. The studio has a wealth of potential stories, and they have to stand back and decide which ones to make. And Magneto, I think, is at the back of the queue."

'Magneto' Could Start 'in the Next Year'
August 25, 2009 01:08:04One of "X-Men" spin-offs is likely to be pushed forth soon enough. Filmmaker David S. Goyer, who is attached to direct "Magneto", recently talked with MTV, assuring that the movie is just "one in a long line of potential X-films". And while no progress has been reported on the project lately, the director who helped penning "The Dark Knight" believes it will eventually pick up speed.
"They're still thinking about doing it," Goyer said when referring to the 20th Century Fox which will develop the Magneto spin-off. "They're definitely looking into doing other X-Men spin-offs." Adding to his initial statement, he stated, "I've been in touch with them. I'm sure that project will move forward in the next year or so."

Bryan Singer Shows Interest in 'X-Men' Prequel, 'Magneto'
June 02, 2009 10:06:21There is a chance that Bryan Singer will be directing "X-Men" in-development movie, "Magneto". In an interview with Total Film for the magazine's July issue as reprinted in the Coventry Telegraph's The Geek Files, the director of the first two "X-Men" movies revealed that he would love to return to the franchise once again, musing an interest for the proposed "X-Men Origins" movie.
"Possibly," the 43-year-old said when asked whether he might be interested in the "Magneto" project. "The only thing that concerns me about Magneto is that if the prequel were to follow the track I used in X-Men, which is Magneto's history in the concentration camp, then I've lived in that world." He added, "Apt Pupil, X-Men and now Valkyrie...I've lived in that Nazi universe for quite a while. I just might need to take a little break before I do something like that."
