July 15, 2009 11:07:29Brand new pictures from "The Last Airbender" have been unraveled and this time, they bring forth Sokka and Katara, the two key characters beside Aang and Zuko. Found via The Examiner, each of the images gives out a close-up shot of Jackson Rathbone and Nicola Peltz in their characters' costume. In addition to those two, other captures at Noah Ringer's Aang and Dev Patel's Zuko are also included.
Weeks earlier, producer Frank Marshall has opened up to Starlog that the planned trilogy of "The Last Airbender" won't be filmed back-to-back, instead they will be handled one by one and may take as long as six years to complete. "We're shooting them one at a time, because they're being written one at a time," he stated. "[M.] Night [Shyamalan] will finish this movie, then the script and then we'll prepare for the next one. I think it'll probably happen over six years."

No Back-to-Back Shooting for 'The Last Airbender' Trilogy
July 03, 2009 11:07:48The planned trilogy of "The Last Airbender" won't be filmed back-to-back and may take as long as six years to complete. Speaking up about the matter was producer Frank Marshall who told Starlog that the filmmakers will be working on the trilogy project one by one. "We're shooting them one at a time, because they're being written one at a time," insisted the five-time Academy Award-nominated producer.
Ruling out the possibility for the three parts of "Airbender" shot like Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings", Marshall noted that director/scribe M. Night Shyamalan is currently in the process of developing the second film. "Night is now working on the script for the second movie, but he hasn't had time to write the second or third ones," he explained. "He's looking at the arc of all three."

'Slumdog Millionaire' Star Dev Patel Comments on 'The Last Airbender' Role
February 05, 2009 03:02:08Having been signed to replace Jesse McCartney in "The Last Airbender", Dev Patel sits down with MTV to talk about the project from his role as Zuko to him taking over McCartney's part. "I play a character called Zuko who is the Prince of the Fire Nation," he starts off explaining about his character, "and it's good because it's a dark role."
"I'm not playing the hero, whereas in 'Slumdog' it was real character acting and performance-oriented," the star of "Slumdog Millionaire" then continues, pointing on the difference between Zuko and Jamal Malik. "This is [as well], but it's much more physical, with martial arts. I'm learning on the job, so this is a great new experience for me."

Of the matter, Variety reported the pop singer has to bow out from the project due to scheduling conflict with his touring dates.
Explaining McCartney's exit, director/writer/producer M. The "Leavin'" singer was actually attached to Zuko character, who is the Fire Nation's evil prince.

LMFAO!! I haven't seen Avatar: The Last Airbender on TV in a LONG time. I never seem to get to see it D: and now there's a MOVIE on it? LOL! Hahahahaha, that's cool. I hope they stay with the anime form, and not the full human form, because that would totally take away Aang's rep.

I will personally not watch this movie. As for all of you going for the hot "vampire" white guys, i with you and your hypocrisy good luck. I would rate lower than one star if I could. Want to know what I'm talking about, watch the cartoon. Still don't get it? Look up the words "Aang Aint White" and neither is Katara, Zuko or Sokka. Peace Out
