Movie Story

In the opening days of Operation Iraqi Freedom, hot-stick Navy fighter pilots BUTCH MASTERS and TOM CRAIG are court-martialed and dishonorably discharged when their mission to escort the delivery of the Top-Secret new "Rainmaker" device goes horribly awry. The delivery helicopters are downed and the Rainmakers are lost along with the promising careers of the two pilots.

Now, six years later, Masters is head of the elite VIPER SQUADRON, a civilian adversary force that runs the trainees at Top Gun ragged simulating the best pilots in all the world's air forces. The Vipers, who face down the hottest pilots the Navy can throw at them, are wild, edgy and quite simply the very best.

So it's more than just a coincidence that when the CIA uncovers the Rainmakers in the hands of terrorists based in Iran, they come to Masters and the Vipers to do what the US military could never do... fly Russian-made fighters into Iran and destroy the Rainmakers before they can be used.

With the mission to save millions of lives - and redeem Masters' reputation sabotaged at every turn, it becomes clear that Masters' life is more intertwined with Rainmaker than he ever imagined. In his darkest hour, Masters must turn to his new friend, Russia's greatest pilot, CAPT. YURI AFINOGENOV, commander of the elite RUSSIAN KNIGHTS precision flying team for help.

Together, an elite, mixed squadron of Vipers and Knights must take to the air in their state-of-the-art Russian fighters to face off against a surprise terrorist squadron of "borrowed" Iranian fighters, led by none other than Masters' disillusioned former wingman, Tom Craig, and stop them before they can unleash Rainmaker on Iraq.

The movie is based on Randy Arrington’s Naval Aviation action novel “Kerosene Cowboys: Manning the Spare.” The novel is simply outstanding and I recommend it wholeheartedly. Based on the superb quality of the source book, and the fact that the Yari Film Group and Afterburner Films are the Producers, the motion picture should be a blockbuster, better than Top Gun.

You must be smoking crack if you think this will be better than Top Gun. I really really really hope this is a great movie ... its just that Top Gun was the best man.
