Weekend Box Office of September 1-4, 2006
September 05, 2006 10:09:44The glory still belongs to "Invincible" for sure. Remains strong on its second spin on the box office over the long Labor Day weekend, the inspiring Disney's sports flick this time made its way to take in $15.2 million from Friday through Monday to stay firmly on the number one spot of the chart, lifting its 11-day total to $37.8 million.
Below "Invincible", two new wide releases, namely "Crank" and "The Wicker Man" soar high to claim the second and third position, respectively, with the former one opening at $13 million while the latter at $11.7 million. Coming up next is Fox Searchlight's road-trip comedy "Little Miss Sunshine" which delightfully managed to add another $9.7 million followed by Neil Burger's "The Illusionist" on the fifth place with $8 million.

Weekend U.S Box Office of August 25-27, 2006
August 28, 2006 11:08:09Move out, folks, the "Invincible" has come to beat all standing on its way for sure. Really lives up to its title, the Disney's uplifting sports feature has gloriously taken its victory lap on the weekend box-office, scoring $17 million to claim its position on the top spot of the list and so, holding back "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" to stay right on its last-week position.
Though unable to accelerate its pace this time, "Ricky Bobby" turns out to still do well in its fourth week on the chart as it managed to add another $8 million to its pocket, altogether making an income of $127.8 million for Columbia Pictures. Lining up behind is the engaging road-trip comedy of "Little Miss Sunshine" which satisfyingly garnered $7.5 million to then climb four steps to number three this week.

"Invincible" Getting Full Support from NFL
August 24, 2006 01:08:32Audience sure will find something special in "Invincible" as it opens in theaters this Friday, August 25. The picture has obtained the approval from the National Football League (NFL) to carry everything associated to the league, including NFL team logos and the NFL shield. This certainly is a rare treat from NFL as the league has not partnered on a major motion picture in a decade since Cameron Crowe's "Jerry Maguire."
Concerning the participation, NFL's director of entertainment marketing and promotions, Tracy Perlman, in representing the league eagerly revealed the reason behind the decision. "The image of our game is really heroic and something to aspire to and you really haven't seen that in a lot of films," so she remarked. "We think you see it here. This movie is really about the heart of the game and it's about achieving your dreams."
