Brad Pitt Wants to See 'Inglourious Basterds' Prequel
November 11, 2009 02:11:35After experiencing the glory of "Inglourious Basterds" in box office chart, Brad Pitt has been said desperate to work on another installment of the drama action movie. Met at the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards presented by Movieline.com in Hollywood, one of the movie's stars, Eli Roth, told E! Online that the leading actor has expressed his desire to see the prequel of the film.
"All the time, Brad says, 'Prequel, prequel!' All the basterds would jump on it in a second," Roth testified. Dishing on the reason why the depicter of Lieutenant Aldo Raine wants to be involved in another "Inglourious Basterds" project, Roth claimed, "Everybody would drop whatever they're doing to go back to work with Quentin [Tarantino]."

'Inglourious Basterds' Raids North American Box Office

Scoring a better-than-expected total after three days of screening in theaters, the movie about a band of Jewish-American soldiers out to kill Nazis in occupied France took in $38.1 million worth of ticket sales.
The opening bow for "Basterds" marked director Quentin Tarantino's personal best. His previous best opener was "Kill Bill Vol. 2", which reeled in $25 million in April 2004. July 10, 2008 10:07:09With Hollywood actor Brad Pitt on the hot seat of the rumored casting, news coming from the latest movie project from Quentin Tarantino supposedly couldn't get any better than that, but it just did. Giving an update to "Inglourious Basterds", the filmmaker known for his works underlining nonlinear storylines and stylized violence has shared a preview to the World War II film.
Posted firstly by Latino Review, the so-called script consisted of five chapters and tell an intertwined story of a squadron of soldiers led by Lieutenant Aldo Raine whose part allegedly has been offered to Pitt and a French Jewish teenager by the name of Shosanna. The soldiers are given the order to go behind the enemy lines and blow up a movie theater in Paris because it is premiering a propaganda war film by Hitler's right hand man, Goebble. Little that they know, Shosanna, who survives the massacres of her family by the Jew hunter Colonel Hans Landa, is attending the premiere with one surprising plan for the Nazi in mind.

Words are coming out that the man behind "Kill Bill" has opened the talks with acclaimed actor Brad Pitt to star in the action drama.
The confirmation of the report has been broken out first by Deadline Hollywood Daily's Nikki Finke on July 8. Still, up to date no further details on the matter apart from the talks have been shed. If Pitt indeed joins Tarantino in his latest feature film project, it would be the "Babel" star's second film project connected to the renowned filmmaker. His first was the 1993 crime drama "True Romance" which was scripted by Tarantino.

Revealing that he has finished scripting for the action drama, the notable filmmaker rejected the idea that this movie will be a period film when talking to BBC News when he attended the Provincetown Film Festival to receive a special Filmmaker on the Edge award.
Commenting on the matter, the man behind the success of 1994's "Pulp Fiction" confessed that though the action drama will be set during the World War II event, he doesn't want it to have the feeling like a period film, instead he is looking forward to modernize it. "I don't want it to feel like a period film. I want it to feel current. I want it to feel right now," explained the 45-year-old. "One of the things I have to battle against is 30 years of Nazi-occupation TV movies where we've all seen the big streets and the vintage cars and the Swastikas, and we've just seen that ad nauseum. This is a modern, in-your-face movie. This is not a TV movie period piece."

In the latest report from AICN, the site noted that Tarantino has done a nearly 40-minute interview with Enzo Castellari, the helmer of the 1977's "Inglourious Bastards", and through which it has been revealed that the 45-year-old is going to separate his version into two flicks. The reason for the splitting of the action drama is said to be stemming from the story that kept growing and growing when he did the writing and researching and eventually it became too big for only one film.

December 14, 2006 01:12:07Regarding the report posted by Latino Reviews last week about the involvement of Sylvester Stallone in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds", it turns out that the "Rocky" star actually is not signed in at all for the movie as stated by the paper, the actor himself has confirmed while out promoting his new film "Rocky Balboa."
"No, I gotta talk to Quentin about that, I've been reading about that," so Stallone remarked as he denied his participation in the project. "That's possible but I don't know how we would get together, it wouldn't be easy."
