A Starry Los Angeles Premiere for Paul Haggis' In the Valley of Elah

Fresh from the 32nd edition of Toronto Film Festival, serious drama "In the Valley of Elah" landed its Los Angeles premiere Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Hollywood's ArcLight Cinema with most cast members attending.

Lead female Charlize Theron arrived at the scene accompanied by long-time boyfriend Stuart Townsend, looking classic in black Christian Dior top. Joined the actress were co-stars James Franco, Wes Chatham, Frances Fisher, Jake McLaughlin, Jonathan Tucker, and Josh Brolin who took wife Diane Lane along for the occasion.

Six More Settles on "Valley of Elah"

More notable names are following Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Tucker to fill in the cast lineup of "In the Valley of Elah." Counted to six, they are James Franco, Frances Fisher, Tim McGraw, Jason Patric, Mehcad Brooks, and Wes Chatham, Variety has reported.

Here Franco is billed to play a sergeant with Fisher portraying a waitress, McGraw a police chief and Patric an Army lieutenant. Meanwhile Brooks will be a member of a squad where Tucker's character is in and Chatham a soldier.

Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Tucker Climbs "Valley of Elah"

Two more big names are coming down together to mystery thriller "In the Valley of Elah." The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Tucker have both reached agreement to take part in the movie, which is currently is under development at Warner Independent Pictures.

Joining Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron, Sarandon will play the wife of Jones' character, a career soldier looking for his son who has mysteriously gone AWOL after returning from Iraq, while Tucker is billed to portray the missing son.

Paul Haggis to Take A Walk in "Valley of Elah"

"Crash" writer-director Paul Haggis is about to take another directorial work. The man is currently involved in negotiations to helm dramatic feature "In the Valley of Elah" of which genesis is taken from Mark Boal's article on Playboy magazine titled "Death and Dishonor" that Warner Bros bought for Haggis and his producing partner Larry Becsey last year.

Set to be distributed domestically under Warner Independent Pictures, the project has already included Oscar-winning stars Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron in the cast. Jones is billed to play a career soldier whose son mysteriously goes missing not long after returning to U.S. from Iraq while Theron will portray a local police detective who helps him to reveal the mystery behind the disappearance.
