Winners Announced for the 2007 LVFCS Sierra Awards
December 21, 2007 02:12:47Rivalry between two lauded features of "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" takes a notch higher as both made a tie at Las Vegas Film Critics Society's Sierra Awards this year.
Each film gloriously collected three honors with "Country" snatching top prize of Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Javier Bardem, and Best Director for brothers Joel and Ethan Coen. "Blood", in the meantime, won leading star Daniel Day-Lewis the Best Actor while bringing Robert Elswit and Jonny Greenwood the Best Cinematography and Score trophy, respectively.

2007 Chicago Film Critics Association Awards Champs Announced
December 17, 2007 03:12:47Kudos appear to keep flowing for "No Country for Old Men", and the most recent ones have come from the Chicago Film Critics Association. Coming to the 20th celebration of its CFCA Awards, the organization has deemed the crime drama thriller the big winner of the event by giving the flick four prizes altogether.
The Miramax Films release gloriously landed top honor of Best Picture while scoring its helming duo, brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, both the Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay trophies. Another of Best Supporting Actor went to Javier Bardem for his acclaimed portrayal of Anton Chigurh in the movie.

The 2008 Spirit Awards Nominations Revealed
November 28, 2007 10:11:21The list of those competing for the 2008 Spirit Awards has been out. Film Independent as the organization holding the annual event announced Tuesday morning (Nov. 27) the lineup of nominees for the prizes at West Hollywood's Softel Hotel, represented by Lisa Kudrow and Zach Braff.
Squeaking ahead of the pack, currently-showing "I'm Not There" gloriously nabs four nominations plus the inaugural Robert Altman Award, notably that of Best Feature. To win the top honor, however, pic has to compete against "Juno" and "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" which also receive four nods each apart from other contenders of "A Mighty Heart" and "Paranoid Park."

I'm Not There Has New Character Posters Launched
November 10, 2007 10:11:29Stressing its description of being an unconventional journey into the life and times of Bob Dylan, Todd Haynes-directed "I'm Not There" has now got its new character posters unleashed onto the net, just about two weeks prior to its limited release on November 21 this year.
Originally posted at Yahoo! Movies, the new posters feature three of six main characters from the drama flick, plus that of Cate Blanchett which was already presented as the theatrical poster. As you can see down below, they are Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, and Richard Gere, all portraying the same character as Blanchett does, none other than the legendary Dylan.

The 17th Annual Gotham Awards Contenders Listed
October 23, 2007 04:10:35Coming to its seventeenth anniversary in paying tribute to the innovative films and filmmakers, Independent Feature Project (IFP) came Monday morning (Oct 22) with the announcement of its 2007 Gotham Awards nominees, giving road movie "Into the Wild" and drama comedy "Margot at the Wedding" two nods each.
Both features delightfully land slot in Best Feature alongside the likes of Not "The Namesake", and "Great World of Sound", which leads the pack with three nominations, the other two being those of Breakthrough Director and Breakthrough Actor for Kene Holliday. It is the latter category that "Wild" also scores in for Emile Hirsch, who will be up against Ellen Page of "Juno", Jess Weixler of "Teeth", and Luisa Williams of "Day Night Day Night" besides Holliday.

Big surprise marked the occasion as sexually explicit spy thriller "Lust, Caution" was bestowed top prize the Golden Lion for Best Film, which was handed to director Ang Lee, who took the same kudos two years ago through his "Brokeback Mountain."

The 2007 Venice Film Fest Lineup Unveiled
July 28, 2007 11:07:59Constructing an intriguing line-up of film titles this year, organizers of the Venice Film Festival have officially revealed on Thursday, July 26 the full list of movies set to be presented at the event, held for the 64th time in its 75th anniversary celebration.
For In Competition section, there will be twenty one flick set to be featured in apart from the previously-announced "Atonement" which will be the opening film at the festival, all to encounter their world premiere. About half are either American or British productions, like "The Darjeeling Limited", "Sleuth", "Redacted", "Michael Clayton", "I'm Not There", and "In the Valley of Elah."

Weinstein Co. Picks Up "I'm Not There"
January 04, 2007 10:01:28Probably it will be one of the most high-profile features The Weinstein Company has ever got within grasp. The studio is reported to have successfully secured the rights to distribute Bob Dylan biopic "I'm Not There" around North America as well as in the U.K.
Timed with the U.S release of the movie, which is set for later this year, a soundtrack containing dozens of Dylan's compositions will also be launched. The album has already been supervised by Randall Poster plus Jim Dunbar and will feature voices of notable artists like Willie Nelson and Yo La Tengo apart from that of the legend himself.

"I'm Not There" to Begin Filming on July 31
