'Henry Poole' Is Indeed Here
August 16, 2008 12:08:32All what Henry Poole wants is simply to be alone and disappear. However, it seems that it is something extremely hard to do. Upon knowing that he is terminally ill, he leaves his fiancee, abandons his job and moves to a suburb to enjoy the last days of his life the way he desires, drowning himself with vodka and stuffing his stomach with junk food. Yet, settling in his new home doesn't mean that he gets the peace he dreams of. His nosy neighbor, Esperanza, believes that a mysterious stain on Henry's stucco wall has something to do with miracle and the young divorcee next door, Dawn, starts to grow on him.
Funny, poignant and uplifting, "Henry Poole Is Here" is a modern day story about miracle of everyday life. Having been screened for the first time at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, the Overture Films' flick hits limited theaters starting on Friday, August 15. Helmed by "U2 3D" director Mark Pellington, it features the likes of Luke Wilson, Radha Mitchell, George Lopez Adriana Barraza, and Cheryl Hines among others as the cast ensemble.

Luke Wilson's 'Henry Poole' Trailer Is Here
April 21, 2008 03:04:23Overture Film and Lakeshore Entertainment have presented movie-lovers the first look into the upcoming dramedy "Henry Poole Is Here" as the trailer to the film starring Luke Wilson and Radha Mitchell has been released online. The video footage runs nearly two and a half minutes.
The compilation of clips starts with the shot of a "For Sale" realty plank which then retracted backward to show a man walking into the on-sale house. The footage then cut into a scene when Wilson's character, Henry Poole who apparently bought the house, opens his door to find her lady neighbor introducing herself before quickly closes the door against her face. The scene then changes to a shot of people lining up to a cashier and the narrator begins to explain about Henry.

'Choke', 'Henry Poole' and 'Hamlet 2' Marks Sundance's Major Deals
January 23, 2008 12:01:37Ending the slow purchasing at Sundance, the three independent drama comedies "Choke", "Henry Poole is Here" and "Hamlet 2" marked the first three major acquisitions made at the film festival. Variety reported that on Tuesday, January 22, the deal for the three films has been closed as the three films have been picked up by major distributors.
The rights of "Choke" starring Sam Rockwell and Anjelica Huston has been bought by the company behind the success of "Juno", "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Napoleon Dynamite", Fox Searchlight. Reportedly, the film adapted from Chuck Palahniuk's novel has been valued for about $5 million. Meanwhile, the Overture Films which distributed "Mad Money" got their hands on Luke Wilson and Radha Mitchell's "Henry Poole" for $3.5 million.

Despite the cancellation of his eponymous TV series, the funnyman has delightfully signed on to star in drama comedy "Henry Poole Is Here", constructing a really busy schedule as he has also been cast in "Swing Vote" and "South of the Border."
Consisting starry cast of Luke Wilson, Adriana Barraza, Cheryl Hines, and Radha Mitchell, pic focuses on a man, played by Wilson, who learns that he only has six weeks to live. Wanting to spend his remaining days in seclusion, he then leaves his job, fiancee, and overbearing mother to settle in a suburbia to only discover that his plan to live out his days in quiet desperation gets disrupted, thanks to his quirky neighbors.
