'Hellraiser' Remake Lost Directors
April 07, 2008 04:04:26The remake of 1987 horror film "Hellraiser" is said to be facing an upsetting setback as the film lost two important people behind the project. According to Horror-Movies.ca, the film's two helmers Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury are officially out from the Dimension Films' project.
The reason behind the dropping off of the two directors was still unclear, but the movie news site claimed that many media channels have let out that the studio is now looking for a new helmer to direct the remake of Clive Barkers classic. Allegedly, the news about the quitting of the two directors came following reports that their written script was being re-written by "Saw IV" and "Saw V" scribblers, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton.

February 18, 2008 02:02:29The remake of 1987 horror, "Hellraiser", has found new screenwriters to bring the chiller to the big screen. According to ShockTillYouDrop, the Weinstein Company have signed Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton to pen the horror film's script.
Dunstan and Melton made their debut in filming industry with their horror comedy thriller "Feast" released on September 22, 2006. They, both then joined the team of successful horror feature series "Saw" to pen the fourth and fifth installment of the thriller starring Tobin Bell.

According to Bloody-disgusting.com, Dimension Films have announced on Thursday, January 24, that the release date of the horror film produced by Clive Barker has been moved to an undetermined 2009 date.
The film directed by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury supposedly becomes the remake of Barker's 1987 directorial debut. The original "Hellraiser" tells the story of an unfaithful wife who helps her dead former lover to bring him back to life.

October 21, 2006 01:10:10Clive Barker is ready to give fresh treatment on "Hellraiser." Yes, the English-born American-resident author/filmmaker is about to revamp and rewrite this very own work of his for The Weinstein Company, which will join forces with Dimension Films to produce the remake.
Revealing the tidbit on his official website, Revelations, Barker openly expressed his response concerning this matter. "I'm excited about it - actually it'll be kinda cool to revisit it once and see if there are things we can do to it which will make it significantly better," so he stated as posted on the site.
